Took it out for a test run. Gutted two pike, chop a coyotes head clean off one swipe, then went and chopped a bunch of willow to take home. It was very sharp. Nice swing. And the thick blade give it some nice follow through.A good camp knife.

This 'Jungle Master' Machete has a fun design as a chopper. The blade grind is pretty even and the workmanship is also fair for what you pay.The saw-teeth on the spine are very sharp and very even.I like the way it feels in hand. The edges of the steel that go passed the wood grips on the handle will cause some hotspots but only after much use and if you wear gloves, that issue should be negligible. It's fairly light and well balanced.Very sharp out of the box and will slice paper. The oxidized finish is nice and doesn't easily get scratched. The sheath leaves to be desired but at least, it'll last for a little while.Like some machetes and knives that I buy, these can often have a slightly bowed blade, probably due to the heat treatment or lack of quality control. As I haven't yet used it outdoors, I cannot speak for the durability but it looks great!I bought one and had to exchange it because when I opened the box, a 1/4 inch of the tip was chipped off.If you are able to get one with a straight enough blade, it's a good purchase for the price of $32.99 and I recommend it.

This is a very useful tool, and I wish more companies made this style of hand chopper. It is agile enough to be used as a knife (have done some decent feathering with it), but it really wants to chop. It does this quite well, and even batons; though it's not thick enough for serious whacks on big logs. The handle is my big and really only gripe. The tang extends below and above the handle scales, and is not rounded, so the grip can really cut into your hand if you're not wearing gloves. I will see what I can do to round them down with a file. Other than that, a good piece of bush gear!

This needs some work to be considered adequate. Namely, remove the plastic handles and round the tang edges and repair/resharpen the machine ground, uneven supplied edge on a stone. Be careful not to over-tighten the grip bolts and use loctite or peen the threaded ends a bit. I find the needed finishing a small price to pay however, considering the cost of a pretty good, all around very useful tool.I am satisfied with this purchase and with a little care it should last me a long time. Best keep in mind it isn't sword steel, nor is it likely capable of chopping through even green wood over half an inch without some damage but, it's good value imo. The stainless is low grade and soft but reasonable care and use should keep it ripping and snorting.I've used it to skin fir bark, chop through woody weeds, cut rope, baton small firewood into kindling, pound stakes into the ground, slice tomatoes etc and even flip burgers, bacon, hashbrowns and eggs.Darned useful it is and sits well on my hip.

There is hot spots all over the handle. Easy enough to grind it away .Very strong steel and the edge retention is pretty good. It will cut and chop. The saw is for cutting knocks not cutting limbs. It will baton just fine

Great Products @ Great Prices! Fast shipping also!Beautiful knife! Fits in my Medium size hand well. Feels very sturdy with a very nice edge on the blade. Nice case as well Tried it out on a few 1 inch willow branches and it chopped through like nothing.I don't think I would use it on anything larger.By far the best low cost Knife/Machette I have purchased from a Amazon seller! And I have purchased a lot of knives! Well worth the money!

This thing is freakin! Awesome! The blade comes fairly sharp, doesnt take much work at all to bring to a razor edge. Its strong and just thick enough it doesnt feel like it will ever warp or bend under heavy use. Light enough for close combat I'd say, as its easy to swing. Comfy on the hip, doesn't flop around much. The Pekkawood composite is a resin/wood mix as many other knives use and its very durable. Overall 9 outta 10. want different colors and finishes soon if ya guys see this.

Great product for the price. It does the job, and a grinder keeps it sharp. Nothing fancy. Not the best steel, but it’s priced to sell.

This has some meat on it. It is sturdy and sharp. The handle is little slick but overall fits the bill for a short chopper. The sheath is good and comes with 2 snap points. The top saw blade does not seem to be long enough to be much use but overall, it will do the job.

Nice size and weight to he blade and the handle is comfortable although could be slick if wet. I wanted to test it, after reading so many mixed reviews, so I headed out back to a small tree in my back yard. I used this to chop off a 3" limb that was dying. I actually used it as an axe and was able to chop it completely off without bending or chipping the blade. I did have to re sharpen it to finish cutting the limb off, which was very easy. I should note that I don't abuse my blades/machetes. Every blade is made for a purpose so I'm not one of those people who get a new machete and go out trying to cut down a oak tree and then complain when the blade chips, so for me this blade works great as an axe/machete cross tool for around the yard. The handle fit my hand pretty well and was comfortable to use for an extended period (I have medium size hands)
