Keep interior wood projects looking beautiful with Minwax Polyurethane Wood Finish. This oil-based clear sealer protective coating protects and adds long-lasting beauty to woodwork, furniture, doors, cabinets and floors. The clear top coat is one of the most durable coatings for wood protection against scratches, spills and more. It can be used on both finished and unfinished wood projects, and is available in a variety of sheens. The fast-drying formula allows for quick recoats in 4-6 hours. Application Directions:

1. Surface must be dry and free of old finishes in poor condition, paint, wax, grease, polish, dirt or other foreign matter.

2. Sand to obtain a smooth uniform surface. Remove all dust with a cloth dampened with mineral spirits.

3. If desired, apply Minwax stain to unfinished wood surfaces. Follow directions for application and dry times.

4. Stir Minwax Fast-Drying Polyurethane before and during use to eliminate settling on the bottom of the can. Stir to rotate the product from the bottom to the top of the can. NEVER SHAKE.

5. Apply a THIN coat of Minwax Fast-Drying Polyurethane using a high-quality natural or foam brush.

6. For floor projects, use a square buff orbital or disk-type sander with 220 grit sandpaper or the equivalent grit pad or screen (specifically designed for sanding between coats). Do not use a belt or drum-type sander for sanding between coats. Follow the sander manufacturer’s directions for your type of project.

7.Apply second coat. If third coat is desired, repeat step 6 before application.

8. After final coat, allow 24 hours before light use.

I’ve used this product many times before, it’s a great product. However it was cheaply packaged and got damaged in shipping. Luckily I discovered it before it got onto my dining room table. So I opened the box and found it loosely packed with a single piece of bubble wrap 1/4” thick protecting a heavy can of expensive chemicals. It had a dent in the top of the can. When packing it should have had a thicker cushion. Shipping company dropped it but it should have been protected better

As advertised; dries smooth. If temperatures are reasonable the rebrush time is a bit forgiving. The satin finish is consistent. Two coats produces a smooth finish. A third coat is just for durability IMHO.

It's a good product but be careful with them, they don't seem to care much if your can is damaged, not sure if it was during transport or before they put it in the box. Nevertheless, it is a nice finish, best applied multiple times in my opinion.

Great product but very stinky. That is to be expected, so block off the area, and aim a fan outside. Applied with a brush and took 24 hours before dry, not cured. Has a satin finish which I like. We still need to sand the first coat and apply the second to our old heart pine floor. It looks great so far. Once you use a brush you toss it. Also wipe up all spills and dots. Seems to go pretty far considering I have done a small bedroom in one coat, temporary, and am working on a livingroom now with o e coat and still have about half a can.

I use alot of Minwax in my wood shop, that's why I buy it by the gallon. Minwax has always been a quality product. It provides a lovely finish to indoor wood projects.

Great poly. I sprayed it on the cabinets I built in my basement, even though Minwax says not to spray it. They turned out great and I am very pleased. I have tried several mfg’s of poly over the years and have yet to find any that I like better than Minwax. The oil base seems to bring out the beauty of the grain in the wood better than the water base. As far as bubbles go, if you follow the steps as per the instructions, you will end up with a beautiful finish. It’s a shame that everyone nowadays seems to be in a big rush to complete a job and tend to not put the effort needed into it to achieve more than satisfactory results
