Got this for my new fishing kayak, and it's just what you would expect. Flukes work well and it's small enough to justify taking. Wish the float was a little bigger, but it should be fine should you have to detach and come back for it. Line is sufficient. Whole package fits into the included bag.

The 1.5 lb Marine Kayak Anchor Kit is a fantastic must-have for anyone who enjoys kayaking, paddle boarding, or fishing. Despite its lightweight design, this folding grapnel anchor provides a secure hold even in moderate currents, making it perfect for keeping your kayak or paddleboard in place while you relax or fish. One of the standout features is its compact and foldable design, which makes it easy to store and transport. It deploys quickly and grips well on sand, rocks, mud, and gravel, giving you versatility no matter where you're paddling. The included rope, buoy, and storage bag add extra convenience, ensuring you have everything needed for hassle-free anchoring.I recently used this anchor on a calm lake while fishing, and it held my kayak steady without any drifting. Even in mild waves, it performed exceptionally well. For its size and weight, this anchor packs a punch in reliability and ease of use. Whether you're a casual paddler or a dedicated angler, this is a great addition to your gear!

This is a nice little kayak anchor. It weighs a pound and a half. It's perfect for when I usually paddle. It does the job. It doesn't slip (here with our bottom) except for extreme conditions. The bobber/float is big enough that you won't lose it in the current. Fit and finish are pretty good. Price is pretty reasonable. I'm happy with it and my paddlin' buddy is getting one, too, for when we fish. I recommend this. Five Stars

This is first anchor so I can't compare it to others, but I am pleased with the quality and weight of this one. It folds up compact and comes with a nice carry bag, should be easy to store on board. It does lock in both the close and open positions. I haven't had the opportunity to use it in the water yet, but it appears to be well made of high quality materials.

The anchor comes with a good length of rope with a float to keep it visible on the surface. It has a thick coat of paint to help protect it from rust. The lock ring holds it open and locks it in a storage position so it can fit inside a storage bag. Given it's lite weight the largest thing I would anchor is a paddle board, and that would have to be to a branch or large rock. So if used correctly it will function as intended.

Just out of the box, I'm very impressed with this anchor. I won't have the chance to take it on the water with me until later in the season. I can tell by the materials and heft of it that it will serve it's purpose though. It has a cylindrical locking mechanism that allows it to lock the hooks in the opened or closed position. The rope is made of excellent material that I believe would last a very long time as long as it is used, cleaned, and stored well.I chose the red version. The paint color is very bright. So if something happens and the anchor comes loose or gets dropped while carrying, I would easily be able to spot it. The paint is also very thick, suggesting that it would weather a lot of banging around. The only drawback I can think of looking over this anchor is that it is pretty heavy. This might be a bit of a problem if you expect to carry your kayak or other personal craft a ways with all of it's equipment. I more view it as a positive though. An anchor should drop quickly and be able to hang on at the bottom. If I find my thoughts on this to be different after I've had a chance to try this out, I'll come back for an update. Otherwise, I'm very please this this item.

I got the 1.5lbs an hour in neon green for my fishing kayak. It's a tiny little thing but just what I wanted for the kayak as it doesn't take up much space or add a lot of weight to the boat. It comes with a rope, carabineer, float, and a surprisingly nice padded bag so it's a ready-to-use kit. Easy to open and deploy as well as stow in the boat. The overall size with everything in the bag is about that of a football--maybe a little smaller. I ordered this color hoping that it was more of a neon yellow than green but it is definitely neon green--the photos make it look more yellow than it really is. Not a big deal but if you're looking for a specific color it might help you to know that it's more green than the photo lets on.

At 1.5lb, these aren't very heavy and tuck away easily on the kayak or canoe. I have a few anchors, from this 1.5lb to 5.5lb, and the designs are very similar. They lock closed, and lock open, so, they're pretty effective. When I'm fishing deeper water, I do need a bigger anchor, that's where I use the 5.5lb. But in shallow areas, or creeks, this 1.5lb is super convenient to use. It comes with a useable length of anchor rope. Sometimes, I toss it like a grappling hook, onto the bank to catch against a log too, works very well.
