Works great on my F250. I don’t have any issues at all. It’s been on there for some time now has not rusted works great if you need it, I would definitely get it.

I was aware that the bushing was plastic when I purchased this kit but the quality of plastic is absolute Junk! The tabs will not stay in the tailgate holes because of the flimsiness of the plastic. I should have just bought ford oem like I had first planned.

These fix perfect on my 1996 F150 with the 8’ bed. I read where others had troubles removing the torque screws but I had no problem at all. Bottom screw on hinge a little clumsy getting to but if you use a short ex it helps I found. Brackets that hold the screw holes for torque screws move so before you remove the hinge, outline the hinge with a pencil or something so when you install and tighten the new one it will be lined back up exactly where it was, at least this is how mine is.If you look at my photos you will see where my hinge post had rotted completely off in the tailgate and I had one heck of a time removing it. Had to use a cold chisel and hammer to scar it then use chisel to get it to spin, once I got it to spin a little I used the chisel to bend a lip down so I could use the claw on my ham metas leverage inside to start spinning it around, doing that along with PB blaster it twisted out. Whew!Great product, I’ll definitely purchase them again but it’ll be someone else’s truck by then, can’t live forever.

The hardest part of this install was removing the 24 year old, painted on bolts from the original brackets. The new hardware lined up perfectly and installation was a breeze. I'm not too impressed with the thin plastic bushings, though. One of the tabs on the back of the passenger side bushing broke off when I tried installing it on the tailgate. Other than that, I am happy with this kit and it tightened up my rattling tailgate just like I hoped it would.
