I bought this to couple with a SS 1 x 1¼ inch bushing for a submersible well pump. It would only screw into the bushing about 3 threads before binding. I had to recut the threads with a 1” die to make it fit the bushing and the check valve. However, the 304 stainless steel is very tough as shown by how hard it was to recut.

Fits well in some fittings and only goes in a few threads on others. On tight fittings need to lubricate threads with pipe dope and should be ok. Otherwise piece appears well made.

I used this connection piece to connect a submersible pump and a check valve, one- way flow valve. I used a wire brush to clean the threads apply some Teflon tape and screwed them tightly together. Works as needed.
