Drilling with forstner bits to achieve a flat bottom hole or to start a deep hole turning project like on a larger vase or vessel is essentially impossible with a standard length forstner bit. To remedy this issue we have developed a heavy duty steel extension that allows you to secure a 3/8 inch shank forstner bit into the end collet.

we offer two extensions for drilling depths of 5.75"(146mm) and 8.66"(222mm) deeper, which require only simple installation for deeper holes.

***FULL DISCLOSURE: Item was received for free through the Amazon Vine program in exchange for an unbiased review.***This set-screw bit extension is a nice thing to have around, but it definitely feels its price. I wouldn't expect this thing to stand the test of time or make it into the 'heirloom' tools category, but in those odd situations where you absolutely need it, it's a lifesaver.This would be a great 'just-in-case' thing to have buried in the bottom of the toolbox.
