Our previous carport cover had edges sewn in to make a small front and sides that only fit certain carport shapes. This one is just a large tarp. I have a collection of different canopies ordered here and some tarps from HF; this is far closer in construction to the latter. We actually found it easier to just drape the tarp over the truck before winter storms since we didn't think this would stand up to heavy snows collecting on it. So if you're looking for an 11ish by 20 tarp to cover an existing leaky roof, worn carport cover, or large vehicle this is fine. I just wouldn't replace the canvas-adjacent tops or sidewalls of any of the canopies with something like this.

I have a 12X24 tarp that is getting some age and starting to flake the white surface plastic, or whatever material they are made of. I did not need one that large any longer so I ordered this slightly smaller one. Well, it is smaller, but it is also thinner. And mine came defective. I have included two pics. One is of it spread out. But when I was folding it back up, I noticed one of the grommets laying on the ground. So I found the spot that it had come from and took a pic of the grommet laying beside the hole that it belonged in. I do think that it will protect from sun and weather, but I am not too hopeful for its durability, especially since it is coming apart before I use it. I do love the ball bungees that came with it.

This so called 10 x 20 FT Carport Canopy Replacement Cover is not as advertised. You get just tarp with grommets and even that is not good quality. The tarp has no legs and it is smaller than you need for any 10x20 feet carport canopy frame. If you need just 10x20 ft tarp then this may work, but do NOT get it to replace your 10 x 20 FT Carport Canopy Cover because it would not work and it would not fit.

This carport cover's thickness and durability appears to match the one that came with my carport. I can't test it's UV resistance in a short time, however the thickness itself is good, and the grommets appear reasonably placed and strong enough. The price is also good, these tend to be between $40 and $60, and currently this one is priced $40.Personally, I like to layer these tarps up. If you have 2, 3, or even 4, the outermost one takes a beating from the sun, weather, debris (branches), etc. Also, if there is hail or a falling branch, it's less likely to go through multiple layers and damage your car or whatever is underneath. So if your existing one has tears but is serviceable, just tape that one up (duct-tape or awning tape), and layer this one on top.

This carport canopy has a durable material and the wide seams for the most part are done well. The perimeter has an embedded reinforcing cord. The measurements are actually wider than what is posted in the product description. Some people don’t realize that since a carport has a gable, the width measurement has to be more than ten feet, but more like 11 1/2 feet. My tarp measured 20 feet long by 11 foot 4 inches, which I appreciate the longer width. The measurements listed on the product description tell me that this canopy will not hang over and wrap around the support frame. My original canopy had enough to go over the frame and help it not rust. This brand is smaller. In looking on Amazon, I now see at least one canopy available that says it will cover the frame poles. This issue is important because this smaller measurement allows the support frame to be exposed to rain and therefore rust and since the bungie cords are exposed to UV sunlight, they deteriorate quickly. As a side note, the black, heavy duty zip ties quickly deteriorate in the hot sun where I live. I used braided plastic clothesline I bought on Amazon that lasts and is basically permanent. This canopy is the poorest in craftsmanship I have ever purchased. The grommets have uneven spacing from the edge of the perimeter. This causes uneven tension on the grommets. One area of the perimeter had real sloppy gluing or sealing so that it was very uneven and shorter. Also, one grommet was missing. I took two stars away for poor craftsmanship that affects how durable it is. It is not worth my time to fold this canopy back up and return it.After having two different other brands of tarps wear out after about two to three years I have discovered some ideas to make them last much longer. Before I install my new tarp, I run several lengths of nylon cord lengthways and the do the same sideways between the frame, roof support bars. This gives a grid pattern of about two foot squares for support underneath the cover. As I make each rope run, I tie each rope crosspoint together. This makes a secure web support underneath. This does two things, it provides support underneath the canopy when high winds blow down so it does not tear. This idea also helps give support so rain and snow will run off instead of collecting on the canopy and causing it to tear due to extra weight of water or snow. My frame is around 30 years old. My current canopy is around seven years old. For the top, I install a sheet of shadecloth. This supports the top in high winds from flopping up, and greatly extends the life of the tarp to around seven to 10 years - depending on the quality of the sunshade fabric. Even though this may innitially cost a little more up front, and take extra time installing shade cloth, I don’t have to hassle replacing my car cover as often. I have my upright support poles anchored in the ground. This system has done so well that my canopy has endured heavy snow and high winds up to 80 mph. Also, since this carport can be taken down, my tax man does not tax me for my carport where I live. This tarp does have a thick material, but it is a shame that the craftsmanship for my tarp was not to my expectation. Maybe yours will be better. Hope this information helps.

I have a 10x20 carport that has side walls. The top cover is wearing out and I need a replacement. Now the original top has overhangs on all of the sides and this one doesn’t. For my purposes it really doesn’t matter since I can still install it. The material is the same as the original and there are plenty of bungee cords included. These tops usually wear out in about five years and this will be the third one that I will replace. I will remove the sidewalls and just have the top so pine sap and bird droppings will not get on my vehicle.

Great! Now I can put my 10x20 canopy back in service. This cover has a good heavy feel to it and the stitching seems robust.
