Install went well, was able to trim to fit my snowblower with oscillating saw in only a couple of minutes. Have used 4 or 5 times now with good results, snowblower throws snow farther than when it was new. Inner housing stays clean, no snow or ice to scrap out.

Will have to completely review when we get another snowfall but bolted up nicely after cutting to size! Rubber is nice and thick and fasteners seem of some quality!

Nice Upgrade, I recommend you take your time and use bolts for better security. Makes a nice difference. Using this and then the Dupont Snow and Ice Repellent on the inside auger housing and discharge shoe makes the snow blower Super Charged. Plus the Dupont spray works great for shovels also and yearly early winter one time application for lower garage door seals and rubber car door and trunk seals will prevent them from freezing shut where the rubber it self makes contact.

Worked really good on my Cub cadet for throwing snow farther. However, beware if you have gravel, has the rocks like to get stuck in the rubber wipers and jam the whole machine.

This is not a universal part for anyone thinking it's going to be an easy installation (me at first) especially if your installing on an older machine. I installed this on a 20 year old yard machines 26" and I had to bend, trim, and drill out bigger holes on the stainless pieces to fit my (3) impellers, same thing with the rubber pieces. Had to cut and shape those to avoid excess rubbing in the housing. Also on the curved part of the impeller (if yours is curved) I had to use longer bolts the ones supplied couldn't reach the otherside in my case. Drilling the holes also was quite cumbersome not much room for error. I have no doubt it will help throwing snow (didn't get to test it out yet) there's countless videos on them improving throwing distance. Installation isnt very easy job so be prepared to say a few swear words, snap a drill bit, and maybe slam a few things lol. Lastly these are pretty good quality for the price, I'm satisfied.

Installed on my yard machine blower and made a noticeably difference. It throws snow further and goes through slushy/heavy snow better as well

I have a Troy Bilt Storm 2420 snow blower. It has a half-inch gap between the impeller paddles and the impeller housing. In good conditions it throws snow just fine. But bad conditions are common; heavy, wet snow will cause it to clog, and to not throw the snow far enough. And the result of not throwing the snow far enough is that I end up having to re-throw snow that I've already thrown. If you've ever had to go over already-thrown snow, you know it's heavy, which means it also doesn't go far enough. With this impeller mod kit, I was able to reduce the gap to 3/32" (the depth of the chute bolts within the impeller housing). The reduced gap takes a 1/2" gap to 3/32"; a huge difference. And the difference in the performance of my snow blower is really amazing. From the right side of my 3-car-wide driveway, I can throw snow all the way to the lawn on the left side, even if the snow is heavier and wetter. It completely changes the snow blowing experience. Now for a review of this specific product. I ordered the 3-paddle version. It came with enough length in each paddle to accommodate the impellers of larger snow blowers. I had to cut down the rubber with a utility knife to fit. And then with an angle grinder fitted with a cutting wheel I cut the stainless steel backing plates do the appropriate length for my snow blower's impeller. The entire project took about 90 minutes. I took my time, measured several times, thought things through as I installed, but in the end it worked out great. I would have preferred one that I didn't have to cut to size, but I understand there are hundreds of snow blowers on the market, each with different size impellers. This is about as good as can be expected. The stainless backing plate, stainless bolts, and thick rubber paddles are really nice. Now that they're installed I can see that it's going to be a durable, long lasting, reliable solution. You could make this yourself if you have stainless steel plates, thick rubber (maybe from an old single-stage snow blower), and bolts on hand. But buying it as one kit made it happen more quickly. Here's how I installed it:1: Remove chute, and chute's base shroud (if there is one) from the snow blower.2: Measure the width of the impeller paddles and mark the rubber and the backing plates. Make sure to line up the bolt holes before marking!3: Cut the rubber with multiple passes with a utility knife. If the edge of your impeller curves upward, you might put an angled trim in the rubber to accommodate the curvature.4: With an angle grinder fitted with a type-1 cutting wheel, cut the backing plates to length.5: Line up one of the impeller kit rubber paddles and backing plates on one impeller fin and mark the drill holes with a center punch.6: With a small drill bit, start a pilot hole (or use the pilot hole screws that came with the kit).7: With a larger bit, complete the holes for the bolts.8: If there are carriage screws that have heads protruding into the impeller housing, put them in place. Then position the paddles to just barely touch them.9: Tighten down the bolts.10: Repeat these steps for the rest of the impeller fins.11: Vacuum out drill dust.12: Replace the chute shroud and the chute.13: Run the snow blower with the impeller spinning for a few minutes. You'll hear a gentle rapping sound if there are carriage bolts slightly contacting the paddles, but this will quiet down over time.14: Go blow some snow!

Did this kid on my snowblower and can’t wait to use it to see how it will perform, most people say it will shoot the snow a lot further. It takes some time for the installation but it’s well worth it. Highly recommended!!

Very good quality (stainless steel nuts, bolts and plates) at a fair price. Once installed this should last for a very long time. My Honda snowblower required me to cut the pads and stainless steel plates down to 2 7/8” to fit, so this required the use of a hacksaw, lots of patience and care. However, once installed and not abused, they should last a very long time. Should they get damaged you can just remove and flip them around and you are good to go for many more years; simple but great design!

Liked that the item arrived ahead of schedule and was very well packaged. The installation instructions were well written and the metal components were stainless steel as advertised; (checked with a magnet to confirm). My only gripe would be that the "kit" only accommodates three impeller blades when many blowers have four blades such as my Ariens. Only able to modify two opposite blades so as to not to adversely effect the blower balance. The installation took longer than I first imagined but I would suggest for anyone considering taking on this task, that they first ensure that they can reach the impeller blades for drilling with the tools they have on hand. I have a number of drills but only the one was able to reach the blower blades comfortably, with the shoot removed of course. F.Y.I. the blades on an Ariens snowblower are quite robust - pilot hole/s needed.

Highly recommended. I installed this kit on a 30-inch Craftsman snowblower that I use to clear a 700-foot dirt/gravel driveway and turnaround area in snowy North Idaho. There was about a 1/2" gap between the impeller and housing, which would jam with stones and ice-up with slush. Throw distance also was not great. This mod kit completely eliminated the gap.Since installing the kit, I've had no issues with stone jams or ice build-up, and the machine throws snow much farther. It's like having a new machine. The improvement this kit made is impressive.Note: Installation was not easy. The discharge chute and its mounting stand on the impeller housing had to be removed to get at the impeller blades. Drilling the thick steel of the impeller was a chore, as was tightening the bolts. When adjusting the rubber sweeps, be sure to disconnect your spark plug and rotate the impeller to make sure the rubber clears the metal housing, because the impeller probably isn't perfectly centered within the impeller housing - at least mine wasn't. Failure to check this could make the impeller bind at some point in its rotation. But it was worth the trouble, and I'm very pleased with the results. I will be sure to add this modification to any future snowblower. Snowblower manufacturers should put these rubber impeller blades on every machine at the factory.
