About this item

  • ✅ [Yamecha / Yame tea] Yame Tea is a brand of tea produced in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. It is a rare and highly esteemed brand, accounting for only about 3% of the total Japanese tea production.
  • ✅ Yame-cha is a high-quality tea with characteristic sweetness and umami. The water temperature should be below 60°C and wait slowly. Depending on the tea leaves, wait for about 1.5 to 2 minutes.
  • ✅ In addition to the commonly drunk sencha and shiraore, Yame-cha also has kabuse-cha and fukamushi-cha. Furthermore, the famous high-quality tea leaf gyokuro is a representative green tea of Yame-cha, characterized by its lack of astringency.
  • ✅ The higher the quality of the tea leaves, the more you wait at a low temperature. In the case of gyokuro or traditional hon-gyokuro, pour lukewarm water at about 40°C over plenty of tea leaves and wait for about 2 minutes until the sweetness and umami come out.
  • ✅ The difference in the price of Yame-cha tea leaves is that the higher the price, the earlier in the year the tea leaves are picked, and the stronger the sweetness. The cheaper the price, the later in the year the tea leaves are picked, so the bitterness increases.
  • ✅ When you want to enjoy green tea with your meal, the more greasy the meal, the more people prefer green tea with astringency brewed at a high temperature. Depending on what you eat with your tea, you can adjust the taste with temperature and enjoy the real pleasure of green tea.
  • ✅ The quality of Yame-cha tea leaves can be judged by the color and shape of the leaves. The darker green and slender the tea leaves, the higher the quality and the more luxurious the tea leaves. The later in the year the tea leaves are picked, the more yellowish they become.
  • ✅ Yame-cha is a rare tea leaf with only 3% production nationwide. 100% Yame-cha leaves are very rare, and even if they are labeled as Yame-cha, many of them are mixed with tea leaves from other prefectures. Among them, our Yame-cha is 100% pure Yame-cha leaves without any mixture.
  • ✅ Hoshino-cha is a tea produced in ‘Hoshino Village’ in the Yamate area of Yame-cha. Hoshino Village is a famous area for gyokuro, and the tea leaves produced in this village are of high quality and luxury.
  • ✅ Our matcha and green tea are additive-free, fragrance-free, and preservative-free, and are 100% cultivated and harvested in the famous green tea producing region of Yame. ‘Yamecha’ is a green tea characterized by its sweetness and umami. Matcha made from high-quality Yamecha has little bitterness and can be enjoyed by dissolving it in hot water or water without adding sugar.

Yamecha Yame tea - Green Tea, Gyokuro, Matcha from Southern Part of Japan.

Yamechα / Yame tea is a Japanese green tea grown and produced in the Yame region of Fukuoka Prefecture. Yame matcha is a type of matcha that is divided into various grades depending on the quality of the tea leaves used, cultivation methods, and processing methods. Ceremonial grade: Made from the youngest and softest tea leaves harvested from the first (spring) new tea of the year, this is the highest quality matcha. Ceremonial grade matcha is ground with a stone mill, so no heat is added, the particles are fine and the color is vivid. It has a sweet and delicate flavor and can be mixed with water or hot water. Premium grade: Premium grade matcha is also made from young tea leaves harvested from the first (spring) new tea of the year, but it is machine-ground instead of stone-ground. Premium grade matcha is also vivid green in color and can be enjoyed dissolved in water or hot water or used in cooking or sweets. Culinary grade: Culinary grade matcha is harvested from first (spring) & second (summer) green tea leaves and has a slightly lower grade than premium grade. However, Mukoh Matcha confectionery grade matcha green tea powder is not the lowest quality. It is suitable for drinking, cooking, baking, and smoothies.
