The 100A Generator Transfer Switch has been a great addition to our home setup. It’s easy to install and operates smoothly, providing a reliable way to safely switch between the utility and generator power. The 24000W capacity is more than enough for our needs, and it works flawlessly with both 120V and 240V systems. The NEMA 3R rating is perfect for outdoor use, and I appreciate its durable, weather-resistant build. Overall, it’s a high-quality, user-friendly switch that gives peace of mind during power outages. Highly recommended for anyone looking to safely manage their home generator.

I got this to use on our well pump. We don't have city water, so when we loose power, we loose water, too, which can be a pain (starting with no flushing!). I have a generator, but connecting it to the well control box is difficult (The well control isn't designed for quick power connections. On the plus side, power is off so messing around with wiring is mostly safe). This should work for this purpose. It's bigger than I need, but that's OK. Better to be too big than too small. It comes with 5 expansion bolts (3rd picture) which I won't be using since I'll mount it to the plywood that the well control is mounted to. There are no mounting holes in the chassis, so you have the flexibility to mount it however you want. It does have 4 'feet' stamped into the chassis so it would be logical to use those, but that's not required. There are two identical confusing labels in the chassis, at the top and bottom right corners (4th picture). "THE FUSES MAY BE ENROIZED EVEN IF THE SWITCH IS IN THE MIDDLE(OFF) POSITION". I'm not sure what this is warning us about. I'm guessing "ENROIZED" should be "ENERGIZED", but there are no fuses, and in theory, if the switch is in the center position (there isn't actually a detent for a center position), there shouldn't be power present on the 'load' connections. I guess it's reminding us that's not guaranteed? This doesn't appear to be a "Make before Break" switch, so having the lever in the middle position should mean no power applied to the load.My big concern, something I should have checked prior to ordering this, there are no Agency Approval labels anywhere on the unit (UL, CSA, CE). That could be an issue if this is installed where electrical code/inspection is required, and generally is a concern for power transmission equipment people are using. One concern would be how it deals with arcing when changing from one power source to another (there are no arc stacks). A more serious concern is the little piece of black plastic isolating the handle/cross bar from contacting anything else (Picture 5). It's just sort of sitting there, wedged between the bar and the insulators, not attached in any real way. As you can see in Picture 6, it's already cracked on my unit. The plastic isn't really designed to bend that sharp. It looks like an afterthought, and not one I suspect and agency would approve of.For what I'm planning on using it for and how I plan on using it, I think this will work and be safe. I can ensure that one power source is dead before switching it (I wouldn't have the generator running and switch it back to line mode, for instance) and the well pump isn't running 100% of the time so there won't be any current load on it when I switch it. If I were intending on using this for a wider, continuous, load, I'd have some serious reservations about it. I guess as long as the 'connected' power source is off (Line voltage dead, generator turned off), it should be OK. No power means no arcing.I'm not a Licensed Electrician or Inspector, but I did spend over 10 years working as an engineer for a company designing and building UL/CSA recognized power distribution equipment and have some familiarity with the process. These are just my opinions based upon that experience. You might want to have a Licensed Electrician review this before deciding to use it.There are provisions to lock the case closed and to lock the handle in either the 'up' or 'down' position to prevent unauthorized meddling.

Solidly built and good quality switch. I plan to use it to switch between my generator and the grid. The lug terminals are very well made and the switch mechanics are solid. The terminals make great contact with positive feedback in the handle. The arc shielding inside is suited to task for the rated voltage/amperage. The outer casing is very heavy and well made. Very professional finish for the price.

This is a serious piece of equipment- I wasn't expecting it to weigh so much or to be made from such high quality metal/steel.It's quite large, about half the size of a whole home fuse box and compared to similar switches at big box home improvement stores, it's priced nicely.I can't attest to how easily it installs or whether or not the switch functions as it should- the cabin that it is intended to be used in is still buried in quite a bit of snow. Once the weather warms up, it will be installed and I will post an update.

This is a heavy-duty, well-constructed transfer switch. The steel casing feels solid and built to last. I’m confident it will hold up for many years of reliable use

Installation was easy, especially with the clear instructions provided. I did need a little help from a professional, but it wasn’t complicated. The switch itself works flawlessly

My first experience with a generator transfer switch. So I don't really have anything to compare it to. But at first blush, I really like it. Seems well-constructed and installation (which my electrician friend will take care of) seems pretty straight-forward.Not sure I trust the "outdoor" claim as it seems more pervious to weather than I thought it would. But okay. In any event, I won't be installing this outdoors so I don't have to worry.Nice item at a nice price. It seems like it will fit my bill. So on that note...5 stars.
