I like the way the two halves fit and lock together, this is a very good connector. It arrived on time and it came with everything you need. This is a heavy duty trolling motor connector

1. The way that the plug is constructed, using AWG 4 wires, the screws that hold the wires will only go in so far. That leaves them sticking out far enough so that the bottom part of the plug can barely fit into the top part, with those screws sticking out into the connecting threads, damaging them.2. The screws that hold the wires are just regular philips screws. For the tension that's needed on those screws, the screwdriver will start slipping quite early; the screw heads should've been different - torx, square or hex. Given the size of the wire, the screws are generally too small, and damage the strands3. The plug fits too tight into the receptacle in general. It requires quite a large amount of force to pull it out. That shouldn't be necessary considering there is a latch. The force needed requires the receptacle to be mounted on a surface and with fasteners that will be able to handle such punishment.

Works great on my new 24v trolling motor, easy installation, locks into place solid, the only room for improvement I can see is the 2 screws that hold the wires into place need some kind of backing plate on them to get a solid connection on the wires, I used a but connector on the wires so the screws could tighten up securely on the wires, other than that it appears to be a good solid product at a fair price

I bought it to use on a trolling motor. The plug real real big. Ended up not using it. I was afraid I would break it off. But it is built really good. I would say its good for something heavy duty.

I haven’t installed the base in the boat yet but the thing is nice even for the price. I’d have been happy with the quality at double the price but very happy I didn’t have to pay that :-). Mostly metal giving it a quality feel. Yes there’s plastic but more as a cover than structural to the piece. Only two things I would say could be better would be a backplate for the base. I don’t think it will be needed but that would be better. Second would be if it was made in a right angle configuration. Honestly I’m extremely happy with the quality, feel and looks.

Not sure why, but the cap pops off all the time. Does not affect my use case (inside a Sprinter van) but it might affect yours.

This is a great quality heavy duty trolling motor plug. Install can't be any easier. No need to solder or crimp wire into place. Plug has screws to lock wire in receptacles. Screws were a little short for my application, however, Gairen sent me longer screws right away. A++ on Customer services and well as their product.
