basking bulbs for reptiles

Note:

*Don’t touch or get too close to the hot surface when the light is on.

*Use a good quality socket where the metal lead comes in full contact with the base of the bulb (a gap can cause power to arc).

*Please adjust the distance between the heat lamp and the pets.

Reptiles are ectothermic and depend on their environmental temperature to regulate their core body temperature. If a reptile is not provided an appropriate environmental temperature range (ETR), it may be predisposed to chronic infections. Because ETRs vary from species to species, ask your pet professional or review available literature for guidance in determining the appropriate ETR for your pet.

This bulb has been my go to for a few years now. It really imitates sunlight. I am only on my 2nd on in four years. So it has an excellent life span. Plus my reptiles love it!

Just got this from my Tortoise. The lights working just as expected. My babies are happy. I had some problems with the first bulb, but that was quickly resolved, and a new one was sent the very next day. The boat works just as expected.

For the first 30 seconds, the bulb was working very well, and my dragon was immediately very excited to be under it.The light then turned a very intense blue-ish white, and less than a minute later, burnt out completely, and does not work anymore. For reference, I checked to make sure the wattage, socket, etc are all the same on this bulb as they are with the bulbs I've been using.

They probably work great for other reptiles, just not for my bearded dragons. Went from a long t5 tube uv light to this and my dragons instantly started losing energy and were always tired... the thing is about them dying in a week or so, not sure if others that reviewed these know it or not, but if it gets shut off or power goes out, they will not turn back on for about 5-10 mins. So you will think the bulb is dead, when in fact it's just in the cooldown period.

I was very excited to get the lamp for my turtle. It shipped fast and came in a nice box. I tested it using the UV light testing card that came with the lamp, and it generated a very nice amount of UVB light. The lamp works well so far and produces decent heat. My turtle loves basking in its warmth!

I’ve had the lamp for a few months now. My lizards are hella energetic after basking in it. They’re always sitting in the light and have had no problems with over heating or any other bad things. Only problem I’ve had is it turns on to be a yellow hue then in a few minutes turning white fluorescent light.
