Many reviews say it's easy to install. That's not my experience. Three things in particular are difficult. First, removing the cover off the drive train. My mower is ten years old, and it was really dirty there and tough to even find the bolts (and you have to tip the machine over). Once the cover is off you can then inspect the drive belt and clean it. Second, removing the old cable at the bottom by the "transmission". There is a two-piece plastic piece, and you have to both squeeze the tabs with pliers AND pull it through a hole at the same time. (I strongly recommend you put the machine on a table to do this part.) If you are holding with pliers, how do you pull it back through the hole? After fifteen minutes of swears I just pulled the tabs off with the pliers. (Pulling the new one through is a snap.) The third thing that's difficult is removing the cable from the housing about 2/3 toward the top. You have to remove the bolt then get the cable out of a very tight place. It's a bear. It'd be easy if you didn't have to take the bolt off because then you'd have leverage.Overall, the pros can probably do this in fifteen minutes, but even after watching a YT video it took me well over an hour. So, this is not for the faint of heart.

I thought this was going to be difficult to replace and procrastinated purchasing sooner. Installed quick and took sometime to adjust to the right setting.
