Thick and sturdy, time will tell if it will rust. For now I'm very satisfied.

This cable appears to be very strong and durable. The ends are pretty heavy and built for a larger dog than mine but I like that it seems to be "chewproof" so far even though my dog has been trying to chew through it. I have only had it for a week. I will update if anything changes but so far it's good.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ITEM. I made the mistake of purchasing two of the Miao Chuai 20 ft tie-out/runners for my Labrador retriever. The package containing both items arrived as scheduled, however, when I opened the package and attempted to loosen the retaining nut it would not loosen. As I repositioned my hand to get a better grip, my finger was punctured by a loose wire protruding from the base of the clip, presumably from the spring. On closer inspection, I realized that the retaining nut was cross threaded. This will be going back along with the other (unopened) item. I noticed that the knurling on the nut on the other tie out is worn smooth. One other issue is that the hooks are advertised as swivel hooks, but they are fixed.A few years ago I bought the Xiaz tie-out cable and had no issues with it. It has functioned extremely well and is being replaced only because the polymer coating is starting to break down and I'm concerned that corrosion might weaken the steel cable. Furthermore, it is rated at 250 lbs rather than 120 lb as the Miao Chuai cable is. The Xiaz cable does not purport to have swivel hooks and is $1 cheaper.
