Dipstick looked original style (fiberglass) not metal. The glass had fractured and dipstick was unusable.

The cable style rod is quite stiff and will require some force and persuasion to work the stick all the way down. You have to finesse it a bit mid way; you can’t just expect to jam it right down like a regular dip stick

It’s a decent quality for the price.Just line it up with your current OEM dipstick as the area that shows normal capacity on the new one is different from the OEM piece. As long as you do this and make a not of where the normal fill line is, you will be ok. If you fill according to the mark on the replacement stick you will be lower than the what is required.

It is shipped curled up in a circle but as it is built like a braided wire it was easy to straighten out. I think it is better than the original part. The original dipstick is easily linked by someone who doesn’t understand you need to give the dipstick a half twist while inserting it into the tube.

I replaced a few factory ones but they always end up cracking due to the stiff fiberglass design that is required to make some bends in the tube. With this aftermarket dip stick I dont have to worry about it cracking and losing part of the dip stick in the oil pan!
