I got this to replace the missing flap on a 2008 Toro Recycler I pulled out of someone's trash. The mower's fully operational and the new flap makes it safe to use. Installation was pretty simple. Time will tell how long the flap will last, but I'm just glad to have the mower in a usable state.

The plastic itself will likely just last one season. Very flimsy. The provided screws are just about the same size as the tube, so doesn’t hold the bar on. Also the anchors are same size, so the screw tends to push the anchor deeper and won’t catch.I used some bolts and a washer to secure better. But due to the cheap flimsy quality plastic, still give it one star.

The actual item seems fine, I haven’t actually run the mower with it on yet - the mounting hardware could be improved - I had to rig something together with washers and wall anchors (my hardware only came with one anchor) seems like it would be easy to improve this.

The factory supplied shield on the Toro model that I own is "fastened" in place with some kind of plastic expansion anchor that I couldn't budge with pliers. I finally used a bolt cutter to take off the head of each side's anchor. The end shown in my attached picture fits through a hole in the plastic body part of the mower. You flex the shield in order for it to bend so that you can get the ends of the new shield into the holes. What annoys me is that the supplied anchors simply spin inside the holes of the shield ends. Also the screw head slips right through the hole. Even if the anchors were sized correctly, the screws and the anchors don't DO anything - they don't secure the shield. Therefore I plan to not use anything to attach the shield. If it snags on something on the ground while mowing the entire shield should just pop off without damage and I can put it back on. The grade of plastic is quite a bit less substantial than the Toro OEM so likely will not last as long. But it's a cheap replacement.
