Worked perfectly. Some of the holes left by contractor were larger than the discs, but that is not the product’s defect, but rather the contractor’s.

I am so pleased I decided to buy these. We bought an old home with multiple can lights installed all over, and decided that instead of tearing then out we'd just use flat LED retrofits in them for a modern look. One problem: both the older cans and the holes cut for them were huge, so the LED retrofits didn't cover the hole. We bought the 8.25" rings to cover the gap, but they barely did and they would not fit tight to the ceiling. These fixed the problem! When I took them out of the package I was afraid they would look odd since they are so large, but they really do not look out of place at all. They also allow the light to fit tightly to the ceiling. Finally! Now that I know they will work, I'm buying enough for all of the lights we're upgrading.If you bought the 8.25" and were frustrated that they barely covered (or didn't cover) your gap, give these a try. They really worked for us.

I accidentally cut the holes for a 6" flat light too large so the light got pulled into the ceiling. These things saved me from having to order larger bulbs. Down the line I will probably replace with large bulbs as I do not like the look so much of having 2 rings but for now no one notices and it saved me a lot of hassel.
