Endmill had metal chips in the flutes. Dull. Someone had used it, returned it, and Amazon sent it out as new. Otherwise it looked like a quality mill.

I did break one but it was my fault. I accidentally touched the work climb milling when I had been using conventional on the rotary table. Not the tools fault. My second one worked very well. I used it for a couple hours and it still looks new.

A similar end mill from McMaster will be double or triple the price. I’ve been cutting cast iron and steel. A lot of cutting, and still sharp. Admittedly, I never measured the diameter of the cutter, that hasn’t mattered so far.

I am using this endmill in a drill press for things other than metal machining. It is an excellent cutter.

I like to stock up on router bits that could possibly get damaged during milling. This 1/4" carbide bit should stand up well over time. It came packaged in s small bubble-wrap baggy in a standard CNC bit case. Some of the images in the product listing look like they are actually renders showing a clean line between the cutting surface and shaft - on my piece there is a dark wavy line that appears to be from the surface treatment or other processing operation these bits go through. This wouldn't make a difference in the function but just is something to note.
