About this item

  • Powerful 7 Amp per channel (97W at 13.8 VDC), easy-to-install, on/off switch and dimmer controller for interior lighting inside your RV, Truck, Auto, Boat or Aircraft.
  • 12 Volt Pulse Wave Modulation (PWM) Electronic Dimmer for DC Lighting Applications. Each of two (2) rheostats control independent circuits.
  • Self-contained 2.5" x 2.5" format. Dual 1/4" shaft and screw-down input and output terminals
  • Integrated on/off switch with smooth control rheostat
  • Each channel can handle 7A Capacity (97W, 13.8VDC) - Powerful enough to dim an automobile headlight (but not recommended !!)

This self-contained, super powerful 2-channel 12 volt dimmer and on/off switch is designed for precise control of interior accent lighting in your auto, truck, RV, boat or aircraft. With dual 1/4 shaft and easy screw-down terminals, you can install this controller in minutes. PWM (pulse width modulation) is the preferred method to control LED lighting for light strips, map lights, under panel, baggage or utility lighting. It supports up to 97 Watts per channel (7 A, 13.8VDC) so you can use this controller for many high-current LED products. Note that the dimmer should always be used with an in-line fuse between your power source and the dimmer, to protect your lighting devices and the dimmer. The dimmer's design includes over-voltage, over-current and reverse polarity protection and it's circuit board is conformal coated to help insulate the circuit from surrounding metal and wires. Easy to install and use - ideal for many different applications. As a 2-channel device, you can use this dimmer to operate independent circuits, such as under dash lighting and instrument panel lighting.

I specifically bought this dimmer because the manufacturer claimed it could dim 12v LED lights up to 97 Watts per channel. No so. I installed this to control/dim my 18w utility lights on my boat. At first I tried running both lights on one channel because I wanted to use the other channel to dim my LED deck lights. The switch worked ok, but the lights flickered at anything less than full power. I tried the other channel and had the same result. Then I wired just one light on one channel and still didn't see any difference. This item was a total waste of money....do not buy. Buyer beware.

Dimmer is used for LED strips that are located under port and starboard inside gunwales of a home-built jon boat. The dimmer is located on an exposed "dashboard". The electronics are reasonably protected from direct exposure to water, but not sealed. This dimmer works really great. Everyone loves that we can dim one side of the boat (or both) and it provides great (red) lighting while prepping for ducks. Given that these dimmers are designed for home-built aircraft (maybe certified, not sure), I fully expect the quality is built in (due to experience home-built aircraft). I don't know if it will last in a (fresh) water-prone environment, but very happy with it so far.

This is a well designed dimmer. It has some nice protection features built into the circuitry, consistent dimming between channels, sufficient heat sinks, and small size when you consider the power output. Used these for LED work lights on my truck's roof rack. Lets me dim down for long term use without killing the battery, and keeps me from blinding the neighbors when using them.
