This came nicely packaged in a clear container, however upon opening it had a slight chemical smell so it needed aired out. It has a regular length and the rope itself has as a really nice soft spongy feel to it. A very nice rope. I'm using this on a yellow lab and the rope look a little big on her, so I would not use this on a smaller dog.I love that It's designed to be only used as a slip collar , so you would use this in a circumstance that the dog actually does not have a collar on. We are planning on using it for the beach!! . The salt water is so hard on her collars so i'm excited to have this. My dog is so well trained. She does not need a leash, but I will also be keeping this in the car for those times when I need to have one by law for public parks and such. Also, if you are familiar with a dog whisperer, this is the kind of leash he recommends to be used when training or correcting problem behaviors while walking.A nice feature is the two stops for the slip part of the collar slide really easy, yet remain secure. This is a design.I have not seen on this type of leash before so it's really a nice added benefit. I'm not sure how well it will hold up in the salt water, but if it does not I will update this review.I’m giving it four stars because of the chemical smell. Other than that, it’s very good quality.

This is a nice, inexpensive slip lead available in attractive colors with reflective detail. I got the 1/2 inch, 6 foot one since I have bigger dogs (60+ lbs). The leash has 2 leather stops to keep it from going too loose or too snug. These seem big enough to keep the ring from slipping over, which I was concerned about with other models. It does have a little bit of "give" to it, without being full-on stretchy.I had wanted this one for leash training a new rescue dog. However, it is a straight rope that does not have a "spin" connection on either end, so if your dog is not yet trained and spinning on the leash, the leash coils and you have to unwind it. It's a good easy-on, easy-off option for easy going dogs. For an untrained dog, I'd upgrade.

I have a very social 8 year old 90 pound chocolate lab that LOVES to sniff & meet & greet, so a heavy duty slip lead is an absolute MUST HAVE for public outings. We are still using the one we used to train him as a puppy, but we needed one specifically to keep in the car as we often forget it when we are leaving.I immediately appreciated the sturdy heavy duty build, and the texture was smooth to the touch.Note on the color: I really appreciated the variety in colors. I ordered the blue with orange dots because orange is kind of "his color", but the coloring is not as expected. Because the orange is a reflective neon it gives off a tint against the light blue. So from far away the leash looks to have a purple/pink hue. I don't really care but just an FYI in the event that someone would care. The thing I love the most: It has little stop gaps from preventing the loop from getting too big or small. I wish the one we've had for 8 years had such a mechanism, I already LOVE this feature! This means that when not in use it wont slip all the way down making it difficult to put it on if you're in a hurry. AKA- your dog is anxious to get out of the car and has no patience for you fiddling around with the leash and is so excited he is trying to help you as you struggle to get it worked out while you hold him back from jumping out the door.Or on the other end of the spectrum, you can stop the leash from becoming too tight and choking him. Sometimes he gets so excited he doesn't care about oxygen. So this is nice. :)He is now fully trained and uses a standard collar and 20' retractable lead for daily walks but he learned the basics using this type of leash. Now it comes in handy when we are out in public, it's a perfect length and makes control so much easier when you have a large over-excited pup!Lastly- the price can NOT be beat!

Review of POUPUA 6FT Durable Slip Lead Dog Leash, Heavy Duty 3/8" & 1/2" Strong Rope Leash for Small, Medium and Large Dogs, No Pull Dog Training Leash with Reflective Threads (Orange, 1/2" x 6 FT (30~120 lbs.))Getting this all-in-one collar+leash (slip lead-leash) was very important to me. As a huge animal lover I want to keep a leash in my car for when I see a stray or lost dog. It would be too cumbersome to have a separate collar or harness as you sometimes only have seconds to get something around the dog’s neck without it getting away or risk getting bitten. I knew when I saw this all-in-one unit that I had to have it. The slip lead works for large and small dogs with its thick nylon material and adjustable neck. Try to keep the “collar” part high on the neck right below the ears. It is also reflective for safety at night. There are 2 stops on the neck end so I can set it so it won’t go super loose when I take it off a dog’s head, nor super tight — it’s a nice touch to have these stops. Nice quality all around, including the “leather” wrapped details. The orange color is awesome and it comes in a sturdy plastic protective case if you don’t intend to use it everyday. I don’t think you will find a better quality combination collar+leash for this amazing price (under $9 at review time.)Earns 5 stars because of the great quality, durability and attention to detail with this slip lead. It’s also quite stylish.
