This device does exactly one thing: it holds medium format 120 roll film negatives or slides in position on the top scanning plate of the Epson V700 scanner so that films are regularly spaced and flat for scanning. When I received it, I compared it to one of the carriers that I own for this scanner - the build quality and the features of the carrier (the way film is locked down to the surface) are exactly the same as the OEM supplied negative carriers that came with the scanner. One additional application for this carrier is to use it to hold films over a light box, for macro lens duplication with an SLR, which many photographers find superior to the V700's resolution and performance. if you need this function, this carrier provides it perfectly.
