Adhesive heaters, such as this one, can save the some time, and trouble, when adding an engine heater to a piece of equipment. This one was ordered to avoid opening or modifying the cooling system in order to add a heater.Delivery required 6 days which was between 5 and 17 days earlier than expected given the estimated delivery interval. The heater was in good shape as was its factory packaging. To me, this heater seems to be about the right size at 150 watts and 4" by 5". It's very thin other than the area where the power cable attaches but it is still under 1/2" thick in that area. Even if operated continuously, its power consumption comes to around 3.6 kWh per day. Maybe 60 cents' worth of power?I'd like it better if there was a connector which allowed for most of the power cable to be removed. Leaving just 2 or 3 inches remaining when the heater was not in use. I may modify this one to allow for that should having the excess cord in place prove to be a problem.

I purchased 2 of these after reading reviews. I put one on the bottom of my oil pan and put one around my lower rad hose after seeing a person did this amongst the reviews and it seems that it only allows the engine temperature to only raise by 10°F so it's not a real good buy. I was looking at the magnet heaters , but this had better reviews and Im not satisfied with this purchase.

Delivery took 3 extra days but finally received it. Using a Kill A Watt meter it uses 125-140w. It will run for a few minutes then shut off cool down a bit then start again. I'm assuming there's a small temp relay or something. It does reach just under 300deg on the surface.I have it wired in with the block heater which is on a sealed exterior switch on truck. It's wired to 1 side of a dual power inlet so 1 cord input. The other output cord is running to a battery tender so anytime its plugged in it charges batteries.
