We enjoy the smooth, rich response in instrument amps too, especially in the V1 or reverb positions. Consider this as an option to lower signal strength from the ultra high gain 12AX7 long plate Mullard. These are testing great and ready to go.

Millard is a well know name for high quality tubes. I used this on as a reverb driver in a Fender Princeton Reverb FSR. Excellent results.

I used this 12AT7 in V1 of my DSL1CR and it knocked back just enough gain from the red channel to make it more usable for my purposes. I generally prefer overdriven Plexi to 90's thrash tones and in between. Before I put the 12AT7 in, the only usable part of the red channel gain knob was from all the way down to about 10 o'clock, and it was super hard to get a decent range of AC/DC type tones before it became too compressed. Now it's all there. Very pleased to say the least!

This is real nice. 15watt guitar amp at the house. I can’t crank it most of the time I’m playing. This cleaned up a lot of muddiness I didn’t even know I had. Nice tube for sure.

I bought this to get a little more clean headroom for my Mesa. It seemed to do the job, had a much smoother overdrive. The problem is, it went microphonic within a week. At even half volume, I started getting a ringing sound. Tapping the tube with a chopstick produced a loud "ting". I replaced the tube with the one I had removed and the ringing went away. I guess I got a bad one.

Everything is as supposed to be across the board, but I have to brag on the product! My amp is notoriously bright, with too much treble. It came with a 12ax7 eh (electro harmonix) in all 3 preamp and tone stack. After putting in a ecc803s it toned it down too much. Now not only has the mullard 12at7 given me the tone I wanted, but added an amazing singing quality! In time I plan to retube the whole thing with mullard

I replaced the stock 12AX7 in my Orange Micro Dark with the Mullard 12AT7 which resulted in a huge improvement in the range of tones due to the slightly lower gain, but also the warmer, smoother distortion I can now get from this little amp. The original tube made the sound too hot, but the AT7 replaces fuzz with velvet crunch.

There is a lot of "Hype" regarding originals and such, I am sure that scrutinizing sound to a ridiculous degree would show there is a difference in sound from originals vs. reissues...bottom line; these tubes rock! -- they absolutely brought a lot of of improved head room, sound and touch to my amp. I highly recommend these!
