I bought two Kala ukes with string-through-the-top tie systems. Finding and mastering perfect stopper knots was immediately problematic. Found these. Bought these. Problem solved. They are simple to use, hold slippery nylon strings without fail, and might even transmit some vibration to the instrument face. (I honestly can’t hear a difference, but there are a lot of things I don’t hear any more.) I’ll never not use them again.

Very nice. Eased string replacement. I DO NOT miss the “fiddliness” of the entire knot-tying experience with string changes.

I used these on my tenor ukulele, and was very impressed with how easy they are to use and how much easier changing strings is when using them. The strings do not slip once tightened down and tuning is solid.Very easy to use and do not effect the sound at all.

Pros: String-ties/beads in general: Makes guitar string installation Much Easier & Quicker- Black (plastic) color good and consistent. BEIGE color good & wood-like color, true to ad picture, blends well with wood.Cons & be aware:- Only ONE of the 12 Black string-ties had holes big enough for Low-E guitar string (largest 'wound" guitar string) to go thru.- Required a Variable-Speed Drill & 1/64th-inch Drill Bit to carefully make holes slightly bigger & make string-ties Usable.- Not yet installed, tbd if drilling impacts integrity of string-ties or tonality of instrument strings.- NOTE also purchased BEIGE string-ties; about half (6 of the 12) had adequate-size holes, the other half also needed drilling. Beige color good, true relative to ad picture.- Your Time & having to own or buy drill & drill-bit shouldn't be required to make Usable, but..price inexpensive especially for 12 plastic string-ties.

Items work as designed, but not out of the box? Had to open up the string holes in order to pass the strings through. My nylon classical strings appeared to be too thick? After drilling out the holes slightly, I was able to use the items, and they seem to work great as It is no longer necessary to tie off the strings at the bridge as had always been a pain.

I use these 'BridgeBead' string ties for nylon string ukuleles and they WORK GREAT. Requires care and precision to thread the 'BridgeBeads' correctly, but they work very well and I would highly recommend them. I would/will repurchase and would highly recommend this excellent product... has made RESTRINGING EASIER and more efficient and IMPROVED SOUND QUALITY (the 'whole system' just works better). *Most lower price string instruments (ukuleles and guitars, all but the most expensive) come from the factory with terrible/cheap 'junk' strings and most players have different preferences as to their favorite strings. Use quality strings, change strings regularly and use these BridgeBeads (for nylon strings) and you'll sound better, enjoy playing more and have easier, more efficient string changes!

These string blocks work and are available in different colours. If you feel that they offer enough of an advantage as an addition to your instrument then they answer your need.My only question is why are they so expensive for a small piece of moulded plastic?Over £1 each seems really dear for this. I would see a price of £2-3 for 6 to be about the mark.Your choice.

I put these on my Taylor 214Nce and immediately notice the difference in the resonance to the body. It truly improves the sustain of my already great instrument. The string change took a couple of strings to get the hang of it, and on the low E, And D strings did require the holes in the plastic anchors to be opened up so that the strings could be passed through the holes. To do this I just used a drill bit and twisted it through the holes with my fingers.(do not use a Drill!) If you are a purist, you may find them objectionable and I get it. I was reluctant to alter the traditional way of tying the strings, but I can’t argue with the results and the ease of changing the strings. Something I always dreaded having to do, so I would play longer on dead strings. I recommend them.

Luckily I had the tools to drill them out but my labor is worth something, I'd look for a brand that didn't didn't require this.
