Well, it worked great for a couple days, But then it got so hot it melted the gasket. It's possible the unit got too hot because we were using it to find a small leak in a evap system. But in that case maybe there should be a timer that will keep it from overheating.

Unique, simply designed smoke machine..In it's original form, it is a simple, lightweight, quick-use smoke injector setup to find a leak, once you've confirmed there is a leak somewhere..The missing component on this is a pressure gauge to test for a leak before forcing smoke into the system.As seen in the pictures, with a few fittings and a rear mount 1-20 PSI gauge, I was able to expand the functionality to now provide leak-down testing prior to adding smoke..It has 5 stars because it is a very straight-forward, easy to use smoke-maker that can be tweaked and modified to suit your needs.

My husband prefers older cars. They are easier to work on and rely on much less computers and electronics. This particular tool is a good fit for the garage. It produces a consistent smoke to track down vacuum leaks as intended.The only downside/annoyance is that it does not come with any of the liquid required. While the listing does specify that this is the case, it would be nice if there were a small amount included so it could be a complete kit.
