The cover plate was sized for a post light photocell. I had to but a cover and drill my own hole. The photocell uses positive ground. My old photocell used negative ground. Not a big deal, but requires reversing the polarity of the DC power supply to make it work. It has about a 12 second time delay when covering or uncovering the photocell. This is great for security. Would have rated higher if the mounting hardware was correct.

DEFECTIVE (Every time)!Every single one of these is defective. I am sure that the defect is built in. (As is evident in every review here).As everyone else said, the light WILL NOT FIT into the metal cover privided!So I put it in anyway (With no cover).but, now it is not sensitive to light.It will turn off ONLY in DIRECT sunlight.So otherwise, Useless. these lights stay on all day even on a sunny day except when the sun shines on it directly.Also, NOTE that the wiring directions on the device are different on the device than what is listed here on this page.JUNK

Should have read the other reviews! Connected to 24v AC it did nothing. Just stayed on constantly. Think this only works with DC, which is not used in outdoor lighting

First off the predrilled hole in the plate was way to large, unable to mount the photocell to it. The photocell actually did not work for a while. Then when it did, the light I was using stayed on constantly. Not sure what the deal was. But hey, maybe it will work for someone else, minus the mounting plate.

I ordered the photo cell , ccover gasket ,screws and cover. That is the way it is advertised, but all I received was the photo cell. THIS IS A RIPPOFF DO NOT BUY !!!!!!
