The little things works well I gate it 3 stars due to its says it comes with internal battery. It doesn't and I had to read and reread a couple times to understand how it needed an external power source in order to operate. This was super frustrating but the scope for the money works as design and pretty spot on.

When working with digital circuits, a multimeter is handy, but doesn't tell you much about what's going on during operation -- or non-operation if that's why you need an oscilloscope. You can see what's going on over a period of time. If you've never used an oscilloscope, there might be a learning curve, but the auto setting takes care of the details until you figure it out. This is not going to replace my Tektronix 2247a. It has a tiny screen, 320x240; but it's colorful and bright. The text on the screen is small, but very easy to read. It only has 200 KHz bandwidth, but that's fine for a lot of small circuits. There's an 80 KHz pwm generator, which makes a great clock while you're developing or troubleshooting.A screen with waveform and text simultaneously, and color... triggered sweep, dc coupled auto mode. That's a lot of functionality in this little package. Add to that the included BNC terminated 10x probe, which I know doesn't approach the quality of the Tektronix, but it's actually pretty nice. That's a lot of features for the price. It's powered by a USB C port. The product description says something about a battery, but there isn't one installed or included, so you need to tether this to a live USB power cord while using it.

Just the other day in conversation a question came up about an inverter as to what is a modified sine wave. Well lets take a look on the new little scope and so a demo began. This small scope was able to display the wave forms of both the power line sine wave and the modified sine wave from the inverter and the questioner learned the difference. This small scope will not replace your bench scope but has utility in some applications. This came with a scope probe labeled as 100 MHZ and another BNC to alligator clips probe. Also included was a USB C power cable. This seems to work fairly well and I plan on building it in a small case with a battery. The power and reset switches are just soldered to the board and with repeated use will fatigue themselves off the board. I plan on using other switches when I put this in a case. I like this as a learning tool.

This is a really tiny, portable, fun little oscilloscope for when you’re away from your work bench. It’s not a DIY kit really, it’s about 99% assembled already. It does’t have a case really, and it feels like it could have been a kit you built. It’s powered by USB-C, so you can pretty much power it anywhere you may go from either a phone charger, power bank, or a USB hub (which is what I did for this test).I just tested it with a simple 5V PWM signal controlling the brightness of an LED. I tend to only work with signals lower than about 10 or 20 kHz, so this is a perfect little scope for me. It looks nice, the display is crisp, and it’s easy to read. Unfortunately, it’s not as easy to operate. You definitely need to read the manual, but it’s still not very intuitive. The buttons are labeled Auto, Change, Add, Dis, and Ok. I would really rather they be named normal things like: Run, Mode, Plus, Minus, and Ok. And even then, that’s not exactly what each button does. Still, once you play with it for about 5 minutes, you can start to figure it out. I didn’t try to get the PWM working, because it looks like you may need to solder some header pins (included) onto the scope to access this functionality.I am a very experienced oscilloscope user, and it still took me 5 minutes just to get this square wave displayed properly. I’m subtracting one star for the subpar and unintuitive user interface. However, once you get past that, this is a pretty neat little single channel scope.Final Rating: 4 stars. It works really well, but the user interface is unintuitive.

Only 1/2 of the screen is full of signal information, manage the signal trace is quite difficult (vertical and horizontal settings), signal disappeared after a day of use, returned and got another one with broken display, so returning with refund this time.

Unfortunately the unit was DOA... It just not worth diagnosing it. Onto something better.

So, I wasn't sure if I was going to have to assemble the unit. Turns out it every component was already soldered in place. I only needed to rummage for a power adapter, and assemble the acrylic housing for it.Absolutely worth it, for checking out my hall-effect and pwm fan settings. Recommended.
