Basic stand. Does the job. This stand is solid wood. I am unsure if it has like a polyurethane type finish on it or not, because the finish isn’t particularly shiny. Assembly was easy, which consisted of screwing the feet onto the bottom of the legs, sliding the top onto the legs, and then adding screws to secure the top. I am using this stand for my Koshi chimes and it works quite well. I have a stand that is almost identical to this stand, but I like this one better because my other stand did not have screws to secure the top. This stand is more sturdy and stable, which I appreciate.

Very nice! I honesty didnt realize how large but it will easily fit up to about a 20" or larger gong. Mine is only a 14" in the picture. Due to the free hanging style and the wood, it seems to enhance and amplify the sound of the gong pleasantly and allows for long ring times. I also like needing only one hand to strike the gong or other percussion items. The raw natural quality of it is quite beautiful and creates a nice display for my gong as well!

I have a set of four Koshi Chimes that are on an almost identical stand. This stand was ordered to be able to hang two of the chimes on the other side of a sound healing instrument setup. I will also be getting a small 14” gong that will be able to hang in this stand.The design of the stand itself is nice, and the top panel should just slide into two side panels. Unfortunately, the top piece that came with it did not have one side of it routed out for the slot to slide into the side panels, and the side that is routed, is a little rough. This would make it completely unusable for the average joe, as it can not be assembled.I’m going to find a few minutes to mark it and use the compact router to make the grove so it can be assembled.One thing I noticed that is different from my existing stand, is that it just slides together and does not need a top screw to keep it together. I’m going to keep this stand like that too, so it can be easily disassembled to three flat pieces for transport.These are cool little stands for chimes and small gongs, but the one I got did not have proper quality control, and can not be assembled without reworking a part. For the average person that would be a one star rating. I’ll give it one more, as I like this type of stand, and I can just whip out the compact router, to cut a mirrored channel on the other side so it can slide into the side panels.

I'm not sure what kind of wood this is, but it is pretty. The frame is well shaped and easy to assemble. The wood is quite lightweight- I would suggest something to protect the wood if it will be used outside.Our gong is quite deep, which means it is also quite heavy. The stand easily supports our eight lb gong.I'm quite happy with this good looking, sturdy stand. It's made of quality materials and it is well made.

We offer a restorative yoga practice at our farm, and our teachers like to bring sound healing instruments (chimes, bells, etc) along. This stand is a wonderful and stylish addition to our space. It disassembles easily to store, and reassembles just as easily. Nice and sturdy, and the instructors LOVE it!

I ordered this stand to showcase a collection of small gongs/tam-tams, and I am impressed with the quality build. The stand arrives as a kit to be assembled, and the assembly is easy. I like that the arch support of the stand fits securely on the feet with the option of installing the included screws. With or without the screws, the stand is solid. Not attaching the screws makes it easy to break down the stand for transport. The craftsmanship is excellent, the wood finish is smooth, and all the parts fit together in a sturdy and beautiful display.

….but you should be aware that it is simply unfinished pine, and as such the price might be a bit off putting for some folks. If it had a coating of something like linseed oil, it might be a little more acceptable as to the cost.
