Leaning gasoline in a small engine's carburetor is a big reason for crummy starts and poor performance. This super cheap, easy to install fuel valve eliminates the problem. When you're about done with your job (only a bit more to mow for example) turn the valve off and let your little engine die of fuel starvation. Leave it off until the next time toy mow, and you'll have faster easier starts and a smoother running machine.

It fit perfectly and it shuts off the fuel to allow the carb bowl to empty. And avoid gumming of fuel when it's in storage. It's easy to install.

Great for riding mowers. Put one just under the gas tank. When I need to change the gas filter I close the valve and run the engine until it quits from using the gas in the line and carburetor. I can then swap the filter without getting gas every where or trying to clamp the fuel line.

Several of my small 4 stroke powered devices CAME with a shut off on it. My Honda mower had one but when I had to replace that I bought a Toro with a Briggs n Straton motor on it and there was no shutoff. I got the link for these off one of Chickanic of Youtube's videos. Real simple to put in though you do have to fuel line between your tank and carb which meant removing the pullstart/cover assembly and pulling up on the tank. Now when I'm done using the mower for a week (I have several patches I use it on once a week sometimes on several days the rest I use a riding mower) I turn off the fuel and let it run the bowl dry. For longer periods, several months, I'll run the tank dry. Exposed gas sucks water. Water in your bowl accumulates and starts screwing with the way your mower works. Running the bowl dry sucks any accumulated water out with it. It's just a better way to go between running periods. If you have a two stroke motor, empty that fuel tank of mix, run it dry THEN put two stroke oil in the tank and prime it through with your priming bulb and dump out the rest of the oil in the tank. 6 months, a year or so the next time you use your two stroke (like a chainsaw you use infrequently) put your fresh fuel mix in, prime it through and the rubber pump in your carburetor won't be deteriorated and worn out like it can be if you left fuel in it.Review and tip in one post. These are cheap and work great and there is NO reason you can't protect your valuable motor from contaminated gas this way.

Shut off valves are a decent quality, turn freely on quarter turn on and off. The metal line clamps provided were flimsy, made of a very thin metal and while they seem to have worked ok so far, they do not have much "spring" to them after installing. ie. After you compress the tabs to install the clamp over the line attached to the shut off and release tabs with pliers, the clamps do not seem to spring back much at all as you would expect. So far however no leaks.
