This set of clamps is great for finish work and mitered corners. The included tool is nicer than my previous one that doesn't have a spring, so I really appreciate that it's included. The handles are comfortable to grip and the clamps are simple to use and become proficient with.

I concur with other reviews, The clamps themselves work well with good holding strength. The handles are functional but don't scream "premium tool". That said, the handles are more comfortable than just applying the clips by hand, so if you aren't using them day in/day out shouldn't really be a deal breaker.

The spring clamps are pretty good. They are strong and really hold your work pieces well. I use these on door and window trim to glue together before installing. No complaints at all on the springs. The pliers/handle thing is okay. It's not super comfortable, and there's a little spring on there that looks a little flimsy. If you're not using these all day, every day, this set will be just fine. If you're a trim guy, I think the pliers would start to annoy me using these day in, day out.For the money, I think these are a decent set. The springs are very comparable to the name brand. One star off for the handle, but would recommend for the springs alone.

This set of clamps is I think, intended for smaller jobs. Insert the supplied pliers into the top of the clamp and it will open to two and a half inches or so. You can judge from that if it can be used on a project. Also, the clamps are sharpened like a nail at the tips, so they are going to bite some material (like a soft wood) and may slip off other materials. I was thinking of covering the tips with Teflon tape if I was worried about the materials.Pick your spots for the use of these clamps.

the spreader tool works great and I love that it springs out - but the clamps don't spring back so the tension is less each time they are opened

I ordered these for a project I'm working on where I need to fix a corner on a cabinet that's already installed. These seemed like a great option so I grabbed them. The size of the clamps is great, they're nice and strong, and the tips are sharp so they don't shift after installation. The pliers are a bit of a different story. They feel exceptionally cheap. The handle is a cheap plastics, there's no tension behind them and the center pin has rust on it as soon as I got it.It's a bit of a mixed bag with the clamps being nice and the pliers being terrible.

These are very easy to use and much faster to set up than any other miter clamps I have (perhaps with the exception of good ol' painter's tape), so they're a useful addition to my clamp collection.Make sure the tips put pressure on the middle of the miter; otherwise it'll open up the side of the joint that gets less pressure (see photos). The pointy jaws leave a rather large dent in pine, but a reasonably small one in oak. Thus, I would not hesitate to use them on hardwoods, but for softwoods, I'd only use them if there's no other way to clamp (e.g. the whole assembly is too large for my X-clamps, which conveniently clamp all 4 corners at once, but max out at 24" on the long side), or I'm OK with filling those holes. I wonder if I can protect the workpiece with tape or hot glue (removable with denatured alcohol) to minimize the pinholes?I love that they come in a set of 9, so I can use 2 per corner to clamp deep boxes, and I guess have one backup in case I lose one? The supplied pliers are well-designed and easy to use. I like to "preload" a clamp in it, set that on the table ready to go, THEN apply glue. Makes glueups much faster and less stressful.I *think* they can clamp non-square angles as well.
