I had to pre-drill holes in vey thin late model chevy sheet metal. A lot of trouble and then it was difficult to tighten them up without stripping.

Over all I like these and reordered. BUT..I dropped one into 17 ft of salt water along with a nut driver fitting and then tossed in a fishing magnet to retrieve the fitting. The screw attached strongly to the magnet making me wonder the quality of the stainless steel. Time will tell. No nut driver fitting retrieved yet.
