Had to replace this ballast after years of other one breaking down. This one was easy to have installed and much cheaper than local suppliers near me. Works great.

This one failed after about 40 hours. perhaps because I used it as only 1/2 winding. took output from one bushing to case because I wanted a ground on my HV supply to feed a half wave rectifier. Apparently the center of the HV winding is connected to the case through a resistor and not directly connected. It didn't like this. I replaced with a 30 yr old one I had in stock which has a direct connection of the center tap HV winding to case.

Kind of disappointed with the arcing power of this thing. I bought it for arcing, and even though it weighs 3 times as much as an MoT, the arcs are 3 times smaller.It works as advertised, but it's nothing to write home about. If you want something really powerful for arcing you will want a much stronger transformer.I'm giving it four stars instead of three because the price is so good for what you get.If you need an NST, this one is adequate.

I used this transformer to build a Jacobs ladder and it worked very well. Easy to hook up and delivers as it's supposed to.
