Data Protection

Q: What the chip does it use?
A: The BC107 bodycam is powered by the advanced Ambarella S5Lm processor.
Q: What software should I use to playback the camera’s recorded MP4 files?
A: We recommend using the “VLC media player” or “Potplayer” to playback the video files. Both of the player's software are available for downloading on the internet.
Q: Will the camera stop recording when the memory card is going to be full?
A: By default the camera is in overwrite mode, when the memory card is running full, the camera will keep recording. The earliest files will be overwritten when the memory card is full.
Q: How many hours can a 64GB memory card save for recording?
A: Normally the recorded file size is around 2GB per hour for the camera recording, so a 64GB memory card can save about 53 hours of recording.
Q: Can the camera turn on IR automatically when ambient illumination is getting low?
A: When the “IR Switch” is set to “Auto” in the camera’s menu, the camera can turn on IR automatically when the ambient illumination is getting low.
Q: How do I download the video to my computer?
A: Use the USB data cable to connect the body camera to the computer. After a few seconds, a removable disk will pop up on the left side of the computer. Enter the removable disk, select the file you need, and save it on your computer.
Q: How can I set up a password to access my camera's memory card when connecting it to a PC?
A: To set up a password for accessing your camera's memory card, follow these steps: Press the “Menu” button to enter the camera's main menu. In the menu, find and select “U-Disk Auth”. Switch the setting to “On” to enable the U-Disk authority. Once enabled, the camera will require a password whenever it is connected to a PC, preventing unauthorized access to the memory card.

I really wanted to love this body cam because I saw pretty good reviews on it. Maybe it would've been better to me if I wasn't comparing it to other body cams that I have in my possession. The screen is nice, but the colored buttons come off as a bit plastic and cheap looking. I can get by that. The camera records at a minimum of 1080p. That's not necessarily a bad thing, unless you count for how long the battery would last on the shift of a security guard that's recording videos constantly. I don't have to record for quality, per se, as all that really matters on a body cam is that you record things for evidence. I like how you can zoom in when recording. That's something I really enjoyed. Now to the bad, at least for me. You can't delete anything off of the camera itself unless you hook it up to a computer. Now what if on the off chance, you want to delete things to make more room for new recordings, and you don't have a computer handy? Not being able to do it on the camera itself without a computer hookup was a big thing for me. Also, when comparing it to Boblov models M5 and B4K5, the volume on the Ponycam was really LOW when recording, which is not a good thing. That's what it took for me to return this camera. If the volume quality isn't good and I can't delete right from the camera without a computer, then I'm returning the camera. It didn't help that it had a very basic manual....actually it was more like a guide than a manual, which I found kind of cheap. This isn't a horrible camera by any means, but for my purposes, it wasn't a good fit.

I had spent hours watching YouTube videos to gain some knowledge about body cams. There are many options out there but one thing that stood out for me was, Image stability. There were very few that actually had Image Stabilization and if you notice on some videos the video playbacks were very shaky ( make you nauseous just watching it). This unit has this feature and it actually works well. Image quality is great,Night vision is great. It lit up a dark room as if it was daylight. Wide angle view is impressive. Battery life is impressive. Ease of use is a 8/10. It does take some time to get used to but it isn't complicated, some buttons have dual functions. I love that it comes with ALL the accessories you'll ever need to carry this unit on your clothing, whether you have pockets or not. Magnetic accessories is amazingly strong. I did read in one of the reviews that it was not possible to erase content from the unit directly, but after some thought I realized that this was actually a good thing as it provides more security and less tampering if someone else besides yourself were to have gotten access to your camera. Data cable included made it easy to access information on the unit when connected to ANY operating system. I had to purchase an additional accessory, an adopter, for my tablet which only had a usb-C port. I tried to access the unit with my Android phone but to no luck...only tablets and computers. The unit fell from my clothing once, because I didn't attach it properly to my pocket, and to my surprise it barely had a scratch. Unit isn't big or heavy. Overall I am happy with my purchase, for what it cost, it was a great deal (coupon was an attractive bonus).

Nice camera! Good quality video and sound, especially at 1440 or 1512 settings. Waterproof, solid construction, and long battery life. Disappointed that EIS limits video to 1080. However, haven’t noticed a big difference using EIS, as at 1440 the video is much better than 1080 with EIS. The included magnet mount is strong, but is a little heavy when camera is attached. Would have preferred to have a removable micro SD card and the battery cannot be swapped. If either of these fail, the camera would be useless. Hopefully this won’t be an issue. Cannot delete videos or pics on the camera without attaching to a computer, as this is a security camera that I’m using as an action camera. Not a big deal because I will be editing the videos anyway. Customer support is good as I had a few questions and they answered quickly.

After several encounters with non-working pets in stores and busy-bodies distracting my service dog, I decided to get a body cam. I’m so glad I did. I compared a lot and ended up choosing this cam. It passed all the features I wanted for the price point. I think this is a great value. The video is good and easy to transfer to Windows 11 with the proper “micro USB data transfer cord.” I was able to drag and drop the files to a folder on my PC. They are MP4 and I was able to play in the Windows video player and edit in Windows video editor called ClipChamp that comes with Windows 10 & 11. I didn’t try to transfer to my iPhone or MacBook, but in the MP4 format it shouldn’t be an issue. I can also playback the videos on the device. It records for 30 minutes (if set to do so) and after 30 min you can just click the record button again for another 30 min. The battery life is great- no issues. The video could be used for a YouTube blog or for evidence. It’s not small enough to be hidden like a spy cam, but I didn’t want it to be. Wanted people to notice and back off, but not everyone even notices it. Yet those who do don’t bother me anymore. If you do share videos online though, you need to edit and mask people’s faces unless the video is used for litigation purposes in court. Having the cam gives me peace of mind- it proves my service dog is behaving and doing her job and what I am contending with in public. It helps in training also- shows me where I can make improvements and also shows me things and people I missed in the environment. It is a good safety and journalling tool. The camera doesn’t move up or down is the only downside. I have to place it on my purse or just the right place and angle to get my service dog on it and what’s ahead. If the cam is too high it just gets too much ceiling. The clips work good, but I also bought a strong magnet holder for it.
