Terrible setup experience, app will not work, says it isn’t verified. Found another version on the web , it downloaded but wouldn’t let me complete the setup, too many people error. Customer support non existent, features won’t work without the app setup or even just on the DVR . Spent better part of 2 days on it. Now I will return it for a full refund. in my humble opinion , terrible customer service, too bad because I really like this device.

My old box from another brand hit a nasty firmware update loop and started throwing errors. I needed a new one, and quick. This plugged right in its replacement had was super fast to get up and running. It even has some additional features that I never had in my older box.

Set up was okay. I kind of winged it in the beginning. I got my cameras were displaying correctly on the DVR. My problem was connecting to my cell phone. Until I reached out to Tech Support. They were answering all of my questions and even emailed their DVR manual which help. I now have my DVR running and connected to my cell phone.However, after one month everything went haywire. Night vision display's went away and during the day time only 4 of my 7 cameras would display.I sent email to tech support. They sent email back asking me "do you use a centralized power system for the DVR?" I told them all of my appliances I have uses the same power system and they all work. After all I live in a large city. They have not returned my email or anything else. Pass the 30 day return policy soI've decided to pull the plug and place this DVR in the trash and buy a different one some where else. I'm not saying not to buy this it should be up to you. As they say "buyer be ware"This is what I get for buying electronics from China.After I wrote this review they sent email telling me I have a camera problem and their DVR fault. However, they couldn't answer why cameras and DVR worked fine in the beginning and did for over a month. Besides cameras just display what it see. No software in those cameras and they are wired no Wi-Fi which its the DVR that should show what the cameras are seeing. To make sure I ask a friend of mine who installs outside cameras and he laugh at me and said cameras are not the problem the DVR is the problem.

really good for the price - but cryptic instructions. manuals and quick start guide did not do much for me. trying to balance wired and IP cameras in display was unsolvable for me. Ended up with 8 wired and 2 IP cameras - that's all I could configure. I am missing a way to get a full 16 with 8 wired and 8 networked as per my configuration, but for the price it was good. HD from old dvd transferred easy. need a remote for it but can't find one.

We had an older DVR installed by our security company. The motherboard gave out, and the replacement was very expensive. We’d heard good things about this DVR, and figured for the price it’s worth a shot. After installing our hard drive, it hooked up and set up was very easy. It only took a few minutes for set up, app download and learning how to use it. The cameras pull up almost immediately in the app, it’s a clear picture, and it even takes individual pictures of people’s faces, cars driving by, or anything relevant captured on the camera. In all, it works better than our much more expensive older model DVR. GREAT purchase!

the unit works well so farI like the fact its nvr and dvr . Nvr only allows only 2 ip cameras in hybrid mode . would like it to be more customable . Preset camera views would like that to be customable also. The quality of the pictures are good.There are no instructions so you will need some savvy on how to set it up. Not my first dvr so no problem for me. What I really dislike about this it wants email and other info I don't want to give it . Took awhile to figure workaround.

I've had to replace my Swann DVR to my camera system 2x now. The system I have is 8 WIRED Installed cameras, so replacing the DVR is the only option. The 1st time was so difficult to even find one, but I finally did, it came in Spanish lol. Nonetheless it worked up until recently. Once again, I found myself trying to find DVR... this dandy little hybrid DVR popped up. Way less than ALL the others I had seen. I bought it, it arrived super-fast! Upon inspection I realized why it was less expensive, it does not come with an HDD (hard drive). So, I took out the one from my old DVR and installed it in this new one and BAM! worked like a charm!! What a find. I saved like $250 bucks!! I am so happy my system is back up and running better than ever! Even came with better, newer software! Woohoo I recommend this DVR to anyone who comes across it! Wow what an incredible find for an incredible price. Thanks, a bunch!

i wanted a vhs tape machine to play old tapes .The add said lots of types one was VHSit felt light and small looking at the rear it had 16 inputs for cameras no use for meI misunderstood the add thank you

the dvr unit itself is not bad for the price but the app and support is horrible. the app would lose the device setting anytime you try to use a different function. you would have to exit the app and go back in for the device to be visible again. that's on the android version. i don't know about the ios side because i could never get it to work as well as the pc client as i can't find one. if everything works well. i would giving it a higher rating. also the bnc connectors are so close/tight it was impossible for me to tighten them on the back of the dvr. my fingers blisters so i had to use pliers to tighten the connections.
