The top is constructed of the same durable ABS as the body and can be locked securely with a 1/4 turn to prevent unwanted spills. The 100' hi-tensile line is 2.5X stronger than traditional chalk reels for fewer breaks on rough, abrasive surfaces. The reel has a 3:1 gear ratio to rewind the line 3X faster than traditional chalk reels. The robust steel handle and large ergonomic clutch deliver increased durability, strength, and torque, and the wide-prong hook provides secure anchoring.

Bought this box about 2 to 3 years ago and has been the longest lasting box ive ever had but that might be because i dont use the chaulk that irwin sells because it cloggs up the line and causes lines to break. Great box eaay to fill and long lasting just dont reccomend using their chaulk

I will update the review when I get CHALK. I did not read the reviews when purchasing a CHALK line. The product description should make it evident that NO CHALK was included. My product score of 3 stars is based on what appears to be a reasonably well-made product. Hopefully, that remains true when I have CHALK. Such an easy product description change...

I surprise purchased this for my husband when he told me he couldn't find the one he already had. He desperately needed it for a project. Going by memory, I chose this because it is the same color & brand of his lost one. He's extremely happy and put it to use as soon as he got it in hand. It works perfectly. I was right about the brand. 🙂

I’ve use this model for years if you’re doing production carpentry or just wanna really nice chalk line with a speed reel this is the ticket.This one has a quick open to no more screwing off the top just a quarter turn in the door swings open

Easy top load, quick wind up. But if you're lookin for a thin line, this isn't it.. but it does fine for normal lay out and striking lines on plywood..

This chaulk box is awesome as far as it's wind up and good gear feel. The line on the other hand doesnt get too saturated. Takes a little while to have the line actually snap a deep line.
