Now it's time to install the belt, but your engine pulley is 5/8" and the alternator is 1/2"! Don’t worry, Speedway has you covered. This alternator pulley allows the use of a 5/8" wide Flathead-style belt on GM externally regulated, SI and one-wire alternators. Alternator Bracket Just because you've got a vintage FlatheadCompatible with Ford Compatible with V8 in your ride doesn't mean you're stuck with the antiquated charging system. Switching to a tried-and-true GM 1-wire alternator is a great upgrade for any Flathead-equipped vehicle with a 12-volt electrical system. Bracket 1946-1953 FlatheadCompatible with Ford and Mercury V-8 engines with WIDE belt drive systems. Heavy-duty steel construction. Can easily be painted to match your engine. Designed to work with the two narrow-belt drive system typical of late '50-'53Compatible with Ford/Mercury passenger cars.
