I feel like these could be a little cheaper however still OK for the price and I would buy again. My nephew loved it and we had a blast throwing it back and forth. They fly great. Open space is recommended, my nephew is in an apartment and we lost the first one almost right away. If you position the back wing to make it do loops it won't get away from you as easy but it's not as fun as gliding. They didn't come in a box from Amazon, they came in a bag but held up in the mail just fine. I was surprised by that but maybe proves their durability.

My elementary schoolers absolutely love these planes. I am an adult and I may have taken a few too many turns to “demonstrate” how to throw them and get them to do a couple of loop de loops. Smaller kids can use the gliding mode to get good air with minimal strength if they aren’t strong enough to get the gyrant mode working. These planes in particular are very good at flying loops. One of the planes does better at gliding than the other, not sure if the wings have to be situated just right for that to work. The kids don’t care and neither do I, we all have a blast playing with these planes outside, away from screens, and the children get some good exercise chasing down their planes. The planes are durable too, my kids throw pretty hard and sometimes release them too late, throwing them directly into the ground. They have also gotten them stuck in trees, dislodging them from the branches by throwing a ball to pop the plane loose. The planes have handled this mistreatment very well, no issues so far. These are a lot of fun, especially on a breezy day at the park. They are best flown in an open field because they do get a lot of air and get stuck on the top of outbuildings or trees pretty easily.

Some of you may remember those balsa wood toy gliders from childhood. This is a bigger, far nicer, and nearly unbreakable foam version. The bass player in my band has 3 grandsons, ages 5, 8, and 11, so I got these for him, and the boys LOVE them. The tail piece can go in one of two slots, which changes the way the glider flies: soaring straight, or loop-de-loop.They're light, brightly colored, and when set up to fly straight, go quite a distance. The boys both fly them themselves, or set up apart from each other to play "catch" with them.As long as you don't step on them, the gliders are pretty tough, and won't break like the balsa wood ones did when I was a kid.Good, clean, inexpensive fun.
