Important Note:
This power wheels adapter is not a charger, it only outputs the voltage and power directly from your battery.
The red wire is connected to the positive terminal, and the black wire is connected to the negative terminal. When using, make sure that the positive and negative wires of the device correspond to the positive and negative wires of the adapter.
If not used for a long time, please be sure to remove the battery form the adapter.

It doesn't really latch to the battery. But it does what it needs to for allowing me to use the battery with my kids power wheel, after I step the voltage down to 6v.
