This product is designed to be used with propane connections commonly encountered on 10-pound through 100-pound propane cylinders, particularly older propane cylinders. This adapter has a male POL (Prest-O-Lite) fitting designed to thread into the cylinder’s propane valve and then supplies the user with the much more recent QCC1 Acme Nut-type fitting that one can use to attach a propane regulator or other connection to the cylinder. Interestingly enough, this adapter also supplies a female POL fitting inside the QCC1 Acme Nut fitting. Why this is I am uncertain since the primary purpose of the fitting is to convert the old POL fitting to the new QCC1 Acme Nut-type fitting. I suppose it could be used when the old POL fitting in the propane cylinder’s valve is seriously worn or not in good shape and this fitting could be installed on a semi-permanent basis to provide continued use of the cylinder.This product has a “soft-nose” POL fitting, this is, it has a rubber O-ring built into the POL portion of the fitting to ensure a leak-free connection. It also must be noted that a wrench will be needed to tighten this POL fitting into place. That said, care must be taken to ensure that the fitting is not over-tightened as doing so has the potential to damage the O-ring seal. The female POL fitting included inside the QCC1 Acme Nut fitting also has a rubber gasket installed to ensure a leak-free connection. Once again, if this part of the fitting is used, the user must be sure not to over-tighten the installed POL fitting.This product is well-made, meets specifications as far as thread sizes and leak-free connections. The finish of the brass material is excellent on the products I received. Additionally, the manufacturer has supplied a plastic cover over the male POL fitting portion of the product to ensure that the threads, the nose of the fitting, and the soft-nose O-ring seal are not damaged during storage and transport. Thank you for caring that I receive a quality product.Safety Note: I have recently ordered and received several products that have POL and/or QCCI connections and with a number of those products, a roll of Teflon tape was supplied. This Seller DID NOT include such a roll of Teflon tape and for that I commend them. Teflon Tape MUST NEVER BE USED with either the POL fitting or the QCC1 Acme Nut fitting. In both of these fittings, the gas seal is NOT TO BE PROVIDED by the threaded part of the fitting. The seal is only provided by specially designed sealing surfaces elsewhere in the fitting. If there is a leak with either of these connections, the leak needs to be properly investigated and repaired or the fitting must be replaced and not simply mitigated through the improper use of Teflon Tape.

These are high quality with nice clean threads. No issues. Work great for using my 100lb tanks to convert from the POL style.
