Nor durable enough for my 4 y at old… he destroyed within minutes of beating his drums. I was trying to find a quieter option but these were no match.

These are very, very light weight. I was desperately looking for foam mallets because they just sound nicer on steel tongue drums and mid class vibraphones. I bought these, not caring that they looked like a lollypop( probably not a good thing because it may entice little ones to chew on it) So I gave them a try and even though the foam was the density that I was hoping for, the handles are so light that I can’t get the sound I want, without whacking really hard,,,,and then all you hear is the thudding and no music. I thought the handle might be hollow and I that I could somehow add some weight but the ends are sealed ( I may chop it off & see if I can add weight and then sand the ends, so they’re smooth. Hmmm….may have to update later.Pros: For parents, whose so called friends, have gotten the kiddies a xylophone, this may save your sanity…Even though the munchkins may bang away, at that thing,,,the sound will not pierce a hole in your eardrum & make you long for their 18th birthday..lol
