I am slowly replacing all of the old lighting fixtures in my home and ordered these medallions to hide marks from the old fixtures while also elevating the look of the new ones. I painted my medallions a gold color.

We had the wiring burn out on a ceiling light fixture in our basement and the new fixture had a smaller base so there was a yellowed area around the new fixture. This medallion fit the light fixture and was large enough to cover the old yellowed area of the drop ceiling. It saved the day as I didn't think painting the tile would solve the situation.I think the center of these medallions can be trimmed to fit a fixture with a larger opening. They are a type of plastic of a good white (not bright) color but also could be painted to meet your needs. For us this was a great fix but they can also be used to add emphasis and/or add visual balance to a fixture.We are in the midst of a major renovation and when we can finally hang our new fixtures, I expect we will be using the other medallion because of a size variance or for aesthetic purposes. I think this is a great price for a set of two and I appreciate that I didn't have to search several stores to find what we needed. If I would have found one, I'm willing to bet I would have paid for 1 what you get for 2 here.
