These tie-down straps are much quicker and easier to use than the strap-type ratchet tie-downs. Just clip the carabiners to each side and pull the loose end to cinch down. Press up on the small lever in the pully housing to release. The two included end-straps allow you to create anchor points anywhere along the edges of your trunk lid, hood or car doors. Perfect for light-to medium duty tie-down applications.

While these are slated for canoe or kayak, I use them to tie down any big cargo in the Jeep or trailer.Super easy to use, very convenient, and store easier than standard clamps.

I'm using this as a quick way to secure my child's special needs mobility device in the back of my SUV. I had been getting by with bungee cords, but I became concerned that in a wreck the bungees couldn't be trusted to hold. This is a fairly small rope, but no doubt much more secure than bungees. The length needed is quick to cinch down with a pull of the chord and easy to release tension with a lever on the adjustable pulley. There are velcro straps included to keep the excess rope out of the way. I can't honestly speak to the use of the anchor straps other than they do appear to be tough and made well. The handles themselves have a carbon fiber look and even texture, but looking on the inside looks like plastic to me. Overall I like them and they serve the purpose of securing things quickly and easily.

I have 4 different kayaks that I currently use, so I've tried a lot of different tie downs to find the easiest way to secure them. This is one of the better sets I've tried. They are a little more robust than a lot of others, and the hood and trunk anchors are a nice addition. Very simple installing and operation, offering nice peace of mind! Great value for the cost.

Haven’t used it yet but I got to to replace a version that I loved of the same thing and this one is nicer with better components.

I'm so glad to have been able to pick these up. We have a canoe that we take on trips and use at a local lake. One of our vehicles has convenient hoops under the front bumper to which we can attach our ratchet straps, but these aren't present on our other vehicle (or, at least, they're not any place I can find them). I created a temporary set of these last summer with some PVC pipe and rope, but the PVC pipe tended to cause the rope to wear. Now, with this set of quick hood loops, attaching that canoe to our vehicles just got easier. When you place them under your hood (or beneath your lift gate at the rear), make sure they're far enough in so that they don't interfere with the hood or door closing. Then, just pull on them until the toggle catches on the framing. From there, you could attach your ropes or ratchet straps. The included rope ratchets are nice, as they are friction based. There's very little chance of accidentally over tightening them as can happen with mechanical ratchet straps. Another nice benefit of them being rope, rather than web strapping, is you don't get as much vibration or hum from them when you're driving.DO NOT use these alone (i.e., only on the front and back of your canoe or kayak). If hauling a kayak on a kayak rack, you may be able to get away with only one on the front and one on the back, but you still need to have a strap over the top to keep it attached to your carrier. With a canoe, sitting top down on the roof or on a luggage rack, You should always have two attachments at the front, two at the rear, and at least one over the top to hold it down. Many inexperienced canoe haulers don't realize that they have to immobilize the canoe from moving left and right as well as forward, backward, or up.As a reminder, just remember to pull over and retighten all your straps after your first couple of miles, or after it starts raining (as the moisture can cause fibers to become more elastic). In my opinion, these are priced fairly. I'm probably going to pick up a second set, so I can use a pair at each end of the vehicle. Hooking these under your hood or hatch is so much easier than hooking to your frame.
