I've paid as much as 4 times for one deck hanger when this one comes in a pair. Quite a clever setup, if you can get the screws anchored correctly. The triangle plexi piece goes with the long side parallel to the ground and the outer holes are for the long screws and nuts which carry the weight of the deck. The two inner holes are used to mount to the wall.Note that the outer are counter sunk and those must face the wall to hold the longbolts into place. The inner hold countersunk should be on the outside facing you. After that, it is just a matter of making sure the bolts are level and not askew (like with any deck hanger). Since the two mounting screws are so close together, you need to make sure the mounting is either to a beam or use better anchors than the ones that come in the kit. Decks can be a little heavy, and you don't want the hanger to sag over time and drop the deck! I like that this hanger will not rotate after mounting the deck, like some hangers do. By measuring and drilling and some experience with drywall hanging, this set should work quite well for a great price!

When they first came and I saw the dull finish I thought there was a film covering them but I just could not find an edge. I had to come back and double check the listing to see that yes, there was a protective film and I just needed to work harder. That could use some work, it's very hard to get that stuff off but I appreciate they have it to keep it unscratched. If there is one thing these hangars and countless other products that include drywall anchors could improve it's the quality of their anchors, they always use the worst, flimsiest ones that you end up tossing and getting your own.
