I got them to use as the guide-bars on micro+macro adjust for a router table fence. They were in good shape when I got them, and it took only a few minutes of work on a home-built vertical lathe (on my drill press) to reduce their diameter by about 0.02" and them to polish them.Their length is perfect for this application as I now have a travel range of about 11" on the fence, and I have micro-adjust capability over that entire length as well.I'm not sure what they are actually intended for, but for this use they are perfect.If you need 12" round 1" diameter aluminum rod, these are great and (for me) fit the bill perfectly.
