This is a MUCH stiffer material than my previous filter, causing some effort to fit it into the filter housing. (Likely will be worse trying to remove it - a problem for another day). I was worried that it would be difficult to cut but it proved quite easy with a utility knife, albeit leaving a somewhat ragged edge. It's also a bit more porous than I was expecting but should do the trick. Not thrilled with buying plastic rather than a more biodegradable material but it was my choice. Will have to see how it stands up to use.

these are great skimmer pads to protect your pump and they last a long time. we just replaced our last one after 3 years!
