Once the strap is in place, and the metal handle is lowered into position, the Velcro locking strap only straps over the upper part of the buckle and not the handle. this means that any pressure on the handle and the strap unbuckles. The Velcro locking strap needs to be sewn lower so it prevents the handle from moving. Alternatively we tie off the handle with the excess strap, however the material is slick and the knot just slides out. I now appreciate the ones I replaced much more and will be looking to purchase them when I find them.

Have had trouble with this type coming loose and falling off the boat, Replace the hook on one end with a snap hook. That has solved the problem so far.

I found these straps to be not as strong as others I have seen. But they where long which is what I needed. Hoe they work.

Would buy again. Although 7' is really long. I'll need to discover how to shorten the length.
