In the past, I’ve used those sheets of carpet grip pad under small area rugs. The thing I don’t like about the grip pad is the carpet eventually walks off it, and the gripper shows. It gets walked on; it gets dirty. With these adhesive type of rug grippers the carpet will stay put. The squares are easy to cut with regular scissors. I tried them first on our little kitchen carpet that’s always traveling up under the cabinet toe kick. (See photo) They stick well to the carpet and the floor. Finally, a gripper that does the job! I would not use these on a carpet that you’re going to move frequently. Pick a location and stick it down. A vacuum cleaner on a low setting works fine on the carpet for regular cleaning. (Just tried it. No problem!) Of course, you’ll eventually need to remove the adhesive squares to thoroughly clean the hard floor. They come off without too much effort. It isn’t necessary to completely adhere every edge of the carpet. Test it first with smaller pieces. See if that’s enough grip, and add more if necessary.
