This is without doubt the best Chinese made monocular I've ever used. The ED glass rivals the best Opticrons, Bushnells, or Hawkes. The image is very sharp, with the outer diameter edges being slightly less so. The 56 mm objective lens lets in lots of light, and the larger ocular lens with the stepped comfort viewing for eyeglasses works a treat. Objects are nicely visible and fairly detailed even in low light conditions.I found that this 12x power did not visibly shake the image noticeably much more than my 10x power Swardovski monocular. The focus wheel is also nicely smooth and fine-grained.The size is of course larger than my 10x42 power, but still fits (without the case) in the pockets of my backpack, and I can pull it out and use it quickly for bird watching, or in the city to see the number of the bus coming from far away.It has a solid-feeling hard textured plastic casing, rather than perhaps a more durable metal casing. However, when you consider everything: from the high 12x magnification, the great image quality, to the IPX7 rating, the fog proof, dustproof, nitrogen filled barrel, the smooth focus knob, to the included mini-tripod, and the phone holder (albeit typical cheap kind), along with the beautiful case, etc., it's actually an astonishing value for under $150 CDN.I had never heard of Andmars before. Yet for those on a budget and still want something between mid-tier and high end image quality, this EDM1 12x56 is unbeatable. I would get this over any Gosky.Highly recommended.

I wanted this to use as a spotting scope, and I love the crisp detail in the view. The focus knob is very fine and allows you to get a very sharp image in the scope. I've been spotting hawks and whitetail deer with it and I am very pleased. You can focus in on objects as close as 25 feet away with extreme clarity. There is no flip up cup for glasses users, you simply rotate the eyepiece and it raises up in increments to maximize your view through glasses.I love the hand strap which allows one handed use. You can raise the monocular and focus very quickly before your subject is gone.Overall I love the feel and finish of this monocular. It feels like a high quality product, and you won't be disappointed. It also comes with the tripod, cellphone mount, the hand strap, lense covers, a cleaning cloth, and a case for everything.I'm glad I got this, and I highly recommend it.

The magnification is actually 12x, and there are no color fringes on bright objects, so the ED claim is true also. The 56mm objective lets in a lot of light, which results in a bright image even in low light conditions. I prefer using binoculars for long-term observation, because keeping one eye closed gets uncomfortable quickly. However, if you are looking for a high-magnification monocular, this one is a decent option. The only two issues I found are the increasing loss of focus towards the edge of the image, and a little play in turning the focus knob. The monocular and accessories come in an excellent case that holds everything and has a carry handle. The hand strap is comfortable and keeps the ocular lens cap from getting lost. Both lens caps fit well and stay on until you remove them. The threading for attaching the monocular to the included small tripod is made from brass and smoothly integrated. It would be even better if it was placed further forward below the center of gravity; as it is, it makes the tripod setup a bit tippy.

I've always had a pair of binoculars. It's pretty handy when you live out in the country like I do. But I have always thought they were a bit bulky and then had to put them down and grab my phone or camera to take a pic.I saw this and thought I'd give it a try. It comes with a nice carrying case, a strap, lens covers, an adaptor so you can take pictures with your phone, and a lens cloth. A great value for the price if you ask me!I found out that if you use the phone adaptor, make sure to mount your phone and align the hole to your phone lens before putting it on the monocular. I suggest using the supplied tripod and having fun.Enjoy great shots!
