Rams Bralin Solid Rubber Contact Wheels are commonly available from 2" to 14" in diameter. Face widths are from 1" to 6". Durometers range from 55A, for polishing and light sanding, to 90A, for more aggressive metal removal. 65A is common shoreness. All of our Contact Wheels are balanced before leaving our factory.If no holes on the aluminum core, usually smaller than 8", it is because we grind its round very well and with exellent balance. We can also custom design and fabricate Contact Wheels to your specifications, tailored to work with your unique application.

As an engineer I noticed the design flaw right away but tried to use the unit anyway - perhaps because others seemed to have no issue with it. In short - there are two ball bearings. The mounting bolts to the grinder put compressive axial stress on the ID of the bearings. The OD of the bearings are sitting on the ends of the 2" wheel thickness. When tension on the bolt is applied, the tension is put directly on the bearings in axial direction. This produces a LOT of stress and friction on the bearings getting them to overheat and fail prematurely. The solution is very simple - add a bushing to carry the mounting bolt compressive force along the ID of the bearings. This is a few $ solution but the designer or manufacturer cut the corner...

Wheel is not round so I will have to find a way to true it. Not perfectly balanced either, hopefully it will get better when I true the wheel.

It was awesome. This is one of the best wheels that I’ve ordered so far super nice super straight super balanced good job whoever made it took a little time to get it but it was worth it.
