The worst. Do not buy this product if you have a Perflex D.E. filter with a bump handle. I used the recommended dosage and my filter pressure skyrocketed. I bumped the filter, pressure returned to normal. In less than two hours I had to bump the filter again. The out flow never returned to normal. I took the filter apart, the product had completely covered the filter element requiring pressure washing because hose pressure was unable to remove the fiber from the filter element. Returned to service and same thing happened again. After the third time in two days I noticed that the fabric on My filter element (fingers) starting to shred. All this time my water was cloudy enough to prohibit swimming. After all this I tried to rescue my filter washed it again and replaced the media with D.E. only to find that the D.E. was coming into the pool water. I had to replace the filter. What a costly mistake. I would have given no stars if I had been able.

Product actually works too well. For pool startup, it barely lasts a day prior to requiring backwash. Material does not backwash easily, requiring a hosing of the DE filter elements after one or two backwashes. Am going back to other DE substitutes using volcanic ash.

Very good performance, but BEWARE - do NOT use a PhosFree or Pool Perfect + PhosFree product with cellulose! Those products bind with the phosphorous to make it filterable, and with cellulose's finer filtering capabilities it just clogs things up. Pressure rises rapidly, eventually I was backwashing several times a day due to pressure problem. I took the filter apart and washed the "film" off the grids 3 times over a 4 week period, and was about to throw in the towel and go back to DE before I stumbled upon the problem. Now it's been 3 weeks without PhosFree (isn't needed anyway if you don't have algae, and if you do that's a different problem!). I've washed the filters once more to get the last of the film off, and what a difference. No more pressure problem, and the water is sparkling like never before. Sparkling, I tell ya'! :)

This stuff is great! I've saved lot's of time, money and the guilt of harming the environment since switching away from D.E. Less space needed to store it, not going to hurt your pets/kids. I highly recommend it to anyone currently using D.E.

We have used this product in our DE filter and it works great. Our order arrived very promptly, and we will be reordering when needed.

Just doesn't seem right.... going back to DE. I see the appeal, and I'm sure it's unrelated, but my pump started to go out shortly after switching. The pressure was reduced and my in floor cleaners stopped popping up. The "cancer" angle for DE is way overblown and not really an issue. Just don't throw it in the air and inhale it. Would love to hear a compelling case for this, but have been unable to find online or elsewhere. Leslie's need to dial their sales pitch on this way back as well.

Works week if your sand from your filter is bleeding out. You don't need to add much, do it slowly over time.
